“Fantastic Value!”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

The menu itself is very entertaining. The $2.99 breakfast is a great value - two eggs whatever way you want, ham, bacon or sausage, home fried potatoes, and toast (white, brown, Russian rye, flax). The coffee's good and hot and the food's great. A can't miss when visiting or near Armstrong.

“Can't beat the breakfast and the "service"”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

Whenever we visit our my wife's parents we always visit the Brown Derby for breakfast...and it is always entertaining.....the main server is the owner and we always wonder what entertaining banter she will provide....she can be quite kurt and blunt....ditto with the cook, but hey Rosanne Barr had a big following as a waitress before her career as a comic took off...(people liked to be treated in blunt almost offensive way) The food is always great and the price for a good breakfast....$ 2.99 is unreal...

last time we were there a heavy metal festival was taking place and the staff dressed up to make sure the new visitors felt right at home......

“"The world's best breakfast"”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

I'm not sure about the world's best, but it's darn good. We've been coming to Armstrong on and off for eleven years and we've always eaten at the Brown Derby. It's owned by a couple who came to Armstrong from Darlington England some years ago and really found a niche in the market.

They open early and most tables are filled by eager diners who know good food when they see it. It's not complicated but it's good and fresh. You'll meet lots of locals there, most eat there daily, and don't be surprised if you hear Billy Joe Spears, Willie Nelson, and lots of 60s and 70s hits playing in the background.

If you're close by it's worth your time to drop in. You're guaranteed a warm welcome.
