“Unexpectedly good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

Made the mistake of reading some of the negative reviews on here before visiting, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised and the kids loved it.

I thought it would be digger themed rides, but the rides are all actually real diggers (duh - clue's in the name), still powered by their own diesel engines and with the rides 'driven' by the digger drivers (mostly women), so they decide how the ride runs, rather than just pushing a button and letting the ride do the same thing it always does. When you get off and say thank you to the person on the ride gate, it's actually because they've done something - given you a great ride - and not just pressed a button and held the gate open for you.

It's not huge, but there are enough rides, an indoor bouncy castle, indoor soft play area, indoor character show at 12pm and a digger 'stunt show' at 2pm that we spent the whole day there without even trying/noticing.

Food was OK. Better than the usual out of the freezer/into the fryer grub designed to be served up by untrained monkeys at big theme parks, but still nothing special (could be so much better while it's still a small family-run-esk venue).

The price is a bit steep, even with the 15% discount that you can get all over the place, and having to pay more for the dodgems and kiddy ride-on machines makes you feel a bit robbed. But, at the end of the day I was happy and so we the kids, so I can't grumble too much and - most importantly - we'll be going back.

They need some/more builders hard hats for kids in the gift shop though! :0)

“Great day out”

We went on a rainy day and had a great time. Very good value for money, different. If you have ever wanted to drive a JCB or have children then this place is unbeatable.

“A great day out for the whole family!”

Something for everyone - even non-drivers and elderly! The staff are all wonderful and no matter when we visit, the queues are never very long. A great day out.

“Great day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

We visited Diggerland a few weeks ago and had a really good time. At first we thought it was quite small but then we realised that there were more rides along the path. It was a really hot day and it was great because we only had to queue for a couple of rides for up to 10 minutes but some rides my kids just went on without queuing. Have to say the staff were great as was very hot and they were still very friendly and they were given drinks every so often to keep them going!
Didnt use the cafe-toilets were fine. Nice big shop. Used a 25%off voucher for entrance so will go again if we get another voucher!

“Absolutely Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2013

It doesn't matter how old the children are, 6 or 60, they will all have a fantastic time. The price of entry might be a shock but once inside and it is worth every penny. The kids had problems prising Grandma out of a JCB and Grandad is thinking about padding out his pension with a part-time job. He wants to be a fork lift truck driver at Aldi. The food available is not very good but you should see that digger near the bridge.
Treat yourself and take the kids with you. Wifey can have a drive as well as long as she brings the sandwiches.
