“Usual standard I have come to expect of Premier Inn”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

This hotel is situated on a small enterprise park outside Rochester, not within walking distance unfortunately. However, there is a cinema complex, a pub serving food, two other restaurants as well as a MacDonalds within very close proximity, also a bowling alley and a fitness centre slightly further along.
Good size room with excellent sound proofing, very clean, comfortable bed, extra pillows. Tea/ coffee making facilities, small hanging space and drawers for belongings but as we were only there for 3 nights this was not a problem. Hairdryer situated by mirror - always a plus for me, plenty of power points to charge phones etc. Decent sized bathroom with hand/shower gels provided, nice towels. Free parking in large car park.
Ate in the restaurant each night as we found the other places got very busy with people using the cinema. Good choice on menu, reasonably priced, didn't have a bad meal.
Only one problem with the hotel was that there is very poor mobile phone reception inside, I found myself leaning out of the bedroom window to receive a call and standing in the car park to make one. On talking to regular users of the hotel it would seem that this is a common problem across all networks.
Ideally situated just off the motorway for access to surrounding areas. Pleasant riverside walk across the road, which the local council should extend as it is cut off rather abruptly in both directions.

Room Tip: Building work going on opposite the front of hotel but with the excellent soundproofing any choice o...

Stayed her for one night and was very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and its modernity. Free parking and a decent restaurant for an evening meal and full english breakfast with very helpful staff, in line with comments of recent reviewers,

Been to this hotel several times. Can't beat the service and attitude of the staff. Such lovely people.
Need to grumble though about the fact they've removed the room telephones. We travelled with family and as there is zero mobile phone network service in the area we were not able to contact eachother without going up and down 2 floors. What a pain! Don't think this is the fault of this particular hotel as think whole chain has removed them. So whoever you are sat in head office, if you'd have spoken to the staff in the ground you'd know that room phones are needed in this location.
In addition, although £3 for 24 hours wifi is reasonable, it's not when have to purchase one for every device you wish to use. I.e phone, lap top, iPad etc. rip off!
Food lovely and the biggest bargain was a 3 course meal, with a glass of wine or beer included and also breakfast included for approx £22. You can't beat that! Kids breakfast is free. Love the location. Great little break with kids as cinema, bowling and restaurants on the complex.
For the first time ever the bathroom was a bit mucky. Floor and also under sink and behind loo could do with a scrub. This is rare for this hotel. Might have just got unlucky.
Would still go back as its such a lovely place to visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding 30th Sept, good big clean rooms, very pleasant staff, good food (breakfast) and good location, easy to get to with lots to do around. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

I have stayed many times over the last few years and this is my, long overdue, first review of this hotel. I stayed with my family twice in August. As always, this Premier Inn was excellent value for money. The rooms are clean and in good condition. This Premier Inn has its own restaurant. We didn't eat dinner there but breakfast was very good (although a little chaotic and messy at peak times in August).

In my experience they tend to accommodate families on the ground floor, keeping children together away from other guests. Therefore, if you book a family room you do have a higher risk of being close to noisy and badly behaved children. Also, if you are sensitive to noise, there is a rail line that passes very close to the back of the hotel. That didn't bother us because the sound proofing was quite good. In fact, if you stay on a weekend, that may be preferable to a front facing room because the spotty Medway towns youth can be quite noisy revving up their little cars at the McDonalds across the road.

Above all, the staff (with the exception of one young man who really didn't seem to belong there) are consistently helpful, cheerful and friendly. I think they do a wonderful job, better than most staff you find in the more expensive and more exclusive UK hotels.

I will definitely be back.

This hotel is not in Rochester nor even in Strood. It is in a 'leisure park' in reality a car park in the middle of nowhere. If you stay here without a car, budget for at least £25 per day (if a bank holiday fares are time and a half) for taxi fares.
Be aware, there is no food available after 11.30am breakfast - until 6pm. The service is extremely slow, and microwave food and not very nice.
There is also a distinct lack of staff on reception, and people were milling about trying to book in or out, but could not find any reception staff.
This is a wedding venue, so you are often caught up in someone else's wedding party.
If all you want to do is book in and leave for the rest of the day, and have a car, and come back late, then this may be the place for you.
If you are a light sleeper avoid this venue, there is a train line running outside your window at the back of the building, specify a front room if you decide to stay here.
We will never use this Premier Inn venue again, although we regularly use Premier Inn venues.
