next to cinema complex and a choice of restaurants and bars, very close to M2 motorway. hotel in good condition and staff ready to please, would recommend a room at the front as railway line at rear of hotel although I never heard any trains.

Room Tip: front rooms overlooking the medway river

Stayed here with friends whilst visiting Kent and its attractions, we had a back room and our friends got a front room I was worried about the noise from the railway but can honestly say this wasnt an issue for us. Brilliant staff who couldnt do enough for us, freezing our ice packs and giving me some fresh milk as I dont like the long life provided in the room. My only negative is that, although there are eating places nearby we had to drive into Rochester itself to find a supermarket and our type of establishment(dont like fast food) but thats me being picky.

Firstly, we love Premier and stay with them all over the country, but I will never go to Rochester again. Lovely food, clean rooms, but the noise from the trains and night club goers both inside and out; meant no sleep. We complained to night staff who did their best to quiet the club goers, but it still kept happening. We did get our money back after having to argue with the day receptionist over the good night sleep policy, who told us she had stayed in that room and the trains did not bother her. The trains start at around 5.30, but the boozy guests make noise all night. The same receptionist told us that they were new, and so had not put in soundproofing at the back yet. Just out of interest I checked reviews today after nearly 3 years and train noise is still a problem. So I still will not stay at Rochester again. Usually find that staff are great, but back in March 2011 the day receptionist was argumentative and unhelpful. Shame really because Premier have just chosen a really poor location for this particular hotel, with regards to noise and type of clientèle is attracts with all the entertainment facilities down there.

We booked on-line and it was easy and efficient. Even reminded us the day before and sent sat-nav instructions.

The hotel was comfortable and clean, we were in a room at the side and it was nice and quiet despite a railway line, which was barely noticed and we had the window open all night. (Being a bit of a train nut - that was actually a bonus!!)

Food was very good, as was the service. We met friends unexpectedly and the staff put us together and made everything very welcoming.

The only grumble is that the wi-fi was so slow and erratic as to be unusable, certainly wouldn't pay £3 per day for it, it would take that long to load a page. It is also of note that there is little or no mobile phone signal. If you are using the hotel for business that is a definite consideration.
