went to Pat's at Punalu'u apt 102. We were steps from a beautiful and quiet beach. an important note is to request #102! It is a one bedroom,1 bath place. they have a comfortable futon for additional sleeping. Full and equiped kitchen. this is not a fancy place, but price and location make it a great place. The location is near the shrimp trucks..so yummy!we were here for 9 days..can't wait to return!

This is on of three two story cottages located next to the large condominium complex. Cottage A3... A perfect piece of paradise near the North Shore area of Oahu. Very clean and with all the amenities of a beach cottage. For a couple it is to die for. The sunrises are amazing. We will be back.

Much less expensive than any comparable place within 45 minutes of Honolulu. We stayed here 3 days, and drove to Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, and Diamond Head; it is not a bad drive and will save you a lot of money. The bed was in an alcove, so you have to climb in and out of bed from the foot of the bed. There is some noise from the road, but not really bad; you can hear a truck go by every now and then. Our unit was very clean. You can sit out on the balcony and the ocean is right below, maybe 100 feet away. Our unit, 503, did not have WiFi and I couldn't get the ethernet cable to work either; I used unsecured WiFi from some other unit. The building is at least 20 years old but has been well-maintained.

Room Tip: The higher floors might be quieter, being further away from the road.

My husband and I stayed in Unit #111 at Pat's from April 1 to the 15th and had a totally relaxing and laid back holiday. I cannot say enough about how well stocked Chris and Al have their condo and how well maintained it is. A few days after we arrived I wished that we had insulated coffee cups to bring to the beach for the sunrises...sure enough, I found a large pair in the cupboard. We went groc shopping every few days and brought their large cooler with the largest ice pack to keep our meat and produce fresh, we used the little cooler for cold "beverages" on the beach...The condo was so clean and fresh that I told Chris that I felt like I was the very first person to use the stove or the pots and pans!
We snorkelled with their gear often and saw beautiful aquarium type fish so there wasn't any need to go anywhere else. I actually was able to capture the sunrise for 14 consecutive mornings...and walk South for an hour on one beach!
The condo building is showing its age but the owners are very proud of their home, so don't be disappointed when you first pull up. The freshwater pool was very close to the lanai and is always clean and ready for dip if you want to cool off. The people who are lucky enough to live in the building and the type of people who chose to vacation @ Pat's are our kind of people. It was sooo refreshing to not have to worry about staking out a spot on the beach in the morning or worrying about your camera or towels being there when you return from a walk. We made many friends, Canadians/American/Hawiian and will be back! Mahalo!

Room Tip: Please make sure you know the Unit # you are reserving and contact the people who have stayed there before. I personally showed Unit #111 to a couple of different parties that were unhappy with their units and they were so impressed that they will probably book #111 in the future. Please email me if you have any questions about our stay.

We stayed in the fourth floor corner unit for a week at the end of March and were very disappointed in the condo. The building is very run down and there is a really bad smell in the parking lot. We did have a problem with very small ants inside the unit and had to put all of our food into either the refrigerator or microwave to keep them out. It seems that the condo was recently updated but when you look around they really did a poor job and things were done as cheaply as possible. It seems that nothing really functions properly in the condo; the stove takes forever to heat up, the refrigerator barely keeps things cold and it is on the coldest setting and the ice maker only partially works. Good luck trying to sleep! It is so noisy it is almost impossible to get a good nights rest here. Since there is no air conditioning you need to have the window open in the bedroom but them all you hear all night long are the cars going up and down the highway. We did love being up on the North Shore but next time will stay over on the Leeward side of the island and not at Pat's.
