I live nearby and Torre Praia is my go-to for lunch and pizza. 200 or 300m from the beach.

Lunch is bog standard por kilo. A very big selection, which includes churrasco as a nice touch. There's Japanese too, but thats a different price.

Can't really fault it, except for the fact that it can get very busy on weekends and it can be frustrating standing around with your plate waiting for people to vacate tables. And its a big place! So that gives you an idea of how popular it is with locals.

Decent desserts too.

I think they do por kilo breakfast too, but I've never been.

Evenings they open the upstairs bit, where there's a kind of trendy outside deck and they do quite decent pizzas, Japanese and other stuff. Nice "going out" type atmosphere. Different from downstairs.

Like I said, its my go-to place for Saturday or Sunday lunch, or Friday night pizza, when you really cant be bothered to go very far.

Worth a visit.

This is a place that I went almost every day, sometimes twice a day! The food is always very fresh, well seasoned, it seems they have several Mom's in the kitchen making the food one small batch at the time..! They always have almost every popular Brazilian dishes, always nice, fresh pieces of Fish, cooked in several ways... All kinds of stews, pots, and Steak and potatoes or anything else you may want, the Oriental Kitchen is also very good with all types of Sushi, sashimi, and other popular Japanese foods !

The Lady Waiters are like having your Sister or Aunt serving you....but without being intrusive or personal..just nice! The price is Just, but not popular prices... It's an in and out type of place at Lunch, at Night they have some Specials going on...they are working on better entertainment for the evenings....I hope they do, they have a nice area upstairs excellent for lounging and mingling ....that needs improving on entertain and specific service...With the choices around, this place certainly takes first place on my book, good for families, couples, or by yourself...it just works and it's very good!... I get always different types of dishes or a mix of some and always have some of the delicious homemade desserts..the grilled fish is just the best I ever had!,not kidding ! All the other dishes are top notch, like The Feijoada or the Bife a Rolle, the Carre a mineira, the fish Bahia style, the Churrasco, and many steaks, Chicken, fried, grilled or Fricasse it's all good...I always leave happy with a full belly for a Just price....about $20-25 Brasilian Reals. I like to always leave a couple of reals on the table for the Service lady...they are so nice! The system is very efficient ...you came in, get a token with a Chip on it and you are either guided to a Table or you can choose one ...then you get a plate at one Side Station and follow the crowd on line and choose from an enormous array of different types of dishes...take your time it's a difficult decision ! Then you pass by the Cashier they charge your Chip and you get Silverware and go to your table to fill your belly, the Service Lady will get you anything else you may need...I.e. extra napkins, flatware, sodas, juices, drinks.... Yes!! They serve alcohol ! You can have Beer, Draft beer, or Cocktails! Afterwords you leave when you are ready...just bring your Chip to the Cashier on the way out to pay your bill...ask for help to any of the staff...they all are very courteous !
Well ...I know it sounds like a advertisement ! But it's so frustrating to find a nice place to have a decent meal that I got all excited about telling anyone about this one....and I have no Business interests whatsoever with the Management of this place, not even they know who I'm or I got a complementary meal. Nothing like that! Who doesn't need help to find a nice Place with good Food and Service at a reasonable price to eat when travelling? or even locals that don't know about this place? Right?!

Well I guess this is it ! Good travels and good munchies everyone!! Next time I'm going to Review a Restaurant around the same area that just re-Openned after a much needed change of Management and Renovations?.!

Bye for now..!
