We visited on a very hot early June day. Quality of food is fantastic and is simple but so tasty, we enjoyed every mouthful, I was lucky enough to enjoy sardines, quality of the salad and the accompanients is just astounding. Also enjoyed apple cake, that was so light and very tasty. Great value, sitting outside have a look at the furniture and take time to look up at the lights, metal dragonflies are awesome in the day, must be brilliant in daylight. Lovely little village and this is a great place to eat.

Delightful little place hidden in Lautrec although sign posted.
Set menu's at times however dont be fooled the food is great, full bar available as well, plenty of live music so worth checking out thie web site. Also there are hundreds of books to look at.

The village of Lautrec is lovely but not well supplied with places to eat, so finding Cafe Plum was a treat. It opened in 2010, so recently that the local Tourist Office has not yet managed to add it to its map of Lautrec's cafes. Cafe Plum is quite a large bookstore specialising in left-wing French literature. It serves good coffee and simple meals, eg 'tartines', toast with toppings such as aubergines, goat's cheese, parma ham, etc, served with rice and salad. It has games for children. Sometimes in the evenings it hosts musical or literary events. There's a pleasant old courtyard outside too, for fine weather. It seems to attract English-speaking visitors, though the staff are French. Cafe Plum was our favourite place in Lautrec.
