I can't stress enough how amazing this place is. A lot of photos show the rooms furnished with the updated furniture but we were lucky to get one of the older rooms. It felt like walking straight into your own bedroom, it was so welcoming. The staff are so friendly and you're greeted like you old friends. Couldn't be happier with the food in the little pub below. The chef does wonders with a steak, which is a big compliment coming from a couple of aussies. We wish we could've stayed there for our entire England holiday. Will definitely be coming back.

checked in early, room was lovely, comfy bed and modern bathroom. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great (cooked perfect). We had a meal on the Saturday evening which was enormous, couldn't manage to eat it all, which was a shame because it was gorgeous. The hotel is in a quiet area, but not far from Nottingham, we had a great day out there on the Sunday. For the price this hotel was a real bargain.

Booked this through Booking.com and managed to get 2 nights for the price of 1...£66 for 2 including breakfast both mornings, bargain!

The 'hotel' is above a very traditional feeling pub and offers a handful of rooms. I was expecting the pub to be heaving upon arrival (friday night) but fairly quiet so we had a few drinks from the bar before retiring to our room.

Breakfast was good both days of our stay with everything cooked to order and cereals on the side with a selection of teas/coffees to choose from. My only complaint would be the poached eggs were a little over done both days but certainly didn't ruin breakfast.

Can't comment on the food other than breakfast as we ate out during our stay but I'm sure it would be good looking at what others ate while we were drinking at the bar.

Overall a good stay for a great price.

Only suggestions would be to upgrade your towels to something a little more modern and bigger, also the electric radiators were set quite low for the weather outside (-1).

Wifi also very good.

Stayed in 'traditional' room 8 exactly as shown in Review photos. Everything worked and room/hotel was very clean & warm. En-suite shower & toilet is small; check when booking so the room provided will satisfy your personal needs. There are also refurbished/modernised rooms, so there is a choice to make on booking.
Simple pub food was cooked fresh and very good value, and there is a well stocked bar. Well frequented by locals which is always a great endorsement. free wifi throughout. The excellent cooked English breakfast will set you up for the day ahead but the self-serve cereals needs expanding with fruits and yogurts at least; the hot water urn with tea and coffee sachets needs to be removed and fresh pots of tea/coffee included in the table service - make these small changes and the breakfast will be complete.
Good car park with plenty of room and safe places for commercial vans. Very friendly & helpful staff - just ask if you need anything for your room (iron & board for example).
Overall a satisfactory stay, quiet location and good night's sleep - perfect for 1 or 2 nights.
