Food was lovely but the room was far from acceptable. View onto storage containers and rubbish, old landrovers, etc. Cobwebs, old chewing gum marks visible when laid in bed. Pillows like concrete TV so far away couldn't be watched! Colour scheme very scary indeed!
Staff in restaurant were lovely, as was food.

Hello Alison, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, unfortunately you did not bring your concerns to us during your stay so we were unable to deal with them at the time for you. The rooms you booked for your stay are very popular with many repeat bookings.Sorry the room decor was not to your taste, we do describe them as traditional/standard rooms and there are pictures of these rooms on this website, our website (hogsheadhotel.co.uk) and booking.com.
Our investigations have found that the marks described under the shelf were caused by the kettle in the room being boiled whilst under the shelf. With regard to the view out of the window the vehicles you describe are used as part of our charity work, one of our directors has been raising funds for Macmillan Nurses but taking part in a charity drive across Australia. Once again thank you for your review

we chose the place because it was 20 minutes driving from the Download festival at donington park,UK.
It really is a simple and small hotel with nice and cozy rooms - not fancy or anything but still- hust what we needed.
The staff is really great and helpful and the food was awesome! rich breakfast included in the price that was far beyond our expectations ץ
We would strongly recommend the place. cheers

The prices quoted on the hotels website and at the hotel itself are very reasonable indeed. However, we booked through a price copmparison site and paid about half!

We arrived late and although the reception area is not "staffed" we walked through to the bar area and were dealt with straight away.

Our room was clean and modern, fairly small but had everything you need, and the bed was really very comfortable.

Being a pub/restaurant/hotel obviously of good standing locally there was a good number of people both having drinks as well as meals.

I genuinely could not believe the price of meals and had to check with a member of staff (midweek roast £4 and 1/2 pound burgers about £5).

We had belly of pork ribs and the aforementioned burger. Both good quality pub food which we polished off with much enthusiasm.

The bar was welcoming and family friendly.

In addition there is also a seperate lounge type room which we did not use for residents only with comfy leather sofas and a tv with a selection of DVDs.

Breakfast was generous with the only fault being the sausage maybe undercooked and/or not to my taste. The second morning of our stay I didn't have sausage but looking at another guests plate their's looked much better than what I had on our forst morning! There was the choice of full English etc as well as cereals, toast, fruit and juice.

Staff could not be faulted at all. Everyone we encountered was friendly, helpful, efficient and easy to chat with.

The next time we stay in this area we will not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: check out the price comparison sites and/or give them a call direct

Incredible value for money, fantastic hospitality and very accommodating staff. Situated conveniently close to the M1 - if passing I would use this hotel again. My only tip is don't let Sat Nav guide you using the postcode ... The road is split by the M1!

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room just ask. The bar does not get particularly busy, it is more the 'matu...

Needed to stay over in Nottingham for work, don’t like chains so this was a little gem of a find. Rooms are clean and tidy well equipped. Choice of food was excellent well prepared and good value for money. The staff are welcoming and very efficient. For a quick stay over you can’t go far wrong with the Hogs Head.

Poped into this place for lunch one afternoon, we were met by a middle aged woman who completely ignored us, she carried on chating on the phone as we stood by the bar waiting to be served.
She didnt even acknowledge us, after about 15 mins we left.
Places like this dont deserve customers.
WE WONT BE BACK.
