“really good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

Really made welcome by Sue, Peter and their daughter. Stayed once before, nearly 4years ago, but welcomed back as if it was last week. Despite have a dairy and wheat intolerance Sue found ways round it, and on both nights I had a lovely meal, with meal times to fit in with my day's activities.
The local bus service to Carlisle stops almost outside the gates of Hazeldean, very convenient if you come here without a car or just want to leave the car and go shopping or sightseeing.

Room Tip: although on the busy A7, the traffic can hardly be heard from even the front bedrooms

I have stayed at the Hazeldean a number of times whilst on business in the area. All three times I have been made to feel very welcome by Sue, Peter and their daughter. They have been able to accommodate my early breakfasts, late arrivals and even provided me with a lovely packed lunch for a small fee, which was brilliant.

I stayed in the single bedroom, which is fully equipped with everything you would need including a wash basin, TV, WiFi and with a bathroom just down the hallway. The breakfast was lovely, especially the cooked items, it's so unfortunate I can't manage to eat more at 7:15 in the morning!

The guest house is amazing value for money and if I am up in Carlisle again, I will definitely be calling to stay again.

Booked this B+B for the Carlisle part of walking Hadrians' Wall trail not realising how far off it was. The hosts could not have been more helpful and kind. They collected me and returned me in the morning to the trail after serving a delicious breakfast. Well worth a stay.

We stayed at Hazeldean for one night this week, as we were in the area visiting friends.

A very welcoming stay, with everything we needed and very good hosts.

We wished we had time to use the spa and/or other therapy treats available, but maybe next time

Well worth a stay

5 of us went to "do something different" as a Birthday Treat. What a wonderful day we had - looked after from the moment we arrived, till the time we left. Great homemade lunch served -, then we all had a "treatment" followed by Hot Tub / Sauna. Sad to leave as all so relaxed / refreshed and did not want the day to end ! Well worth visiting !

If we could have a place like this to stay every night, we would be able to travel at least twice as much! The room was more than adequate, the hosts were so nice and accomodating, and the hot tub/spa suite was relaxing. We really enjoyed staying here. The room isn't the fanciest; the bed isn't the biggest; but for the price it is an incredible value and we will recommend it to anyone passing through. A nice touch is how easy to find it is - a great find in all senses of the word! Thanks for a great B&B and tasty breakfast!

Room Tip: On the A595, could be noisy in summer if you open the windows- bring earplugs if that is an issue.

"We stayed at Hazeldean on a cycle trip. There was a warm welcome with an enchanting garden to pass through on our way to the accommodation. WE had the facility of secure cycle storage and battery charging for the electric cycles, so no hassle there.
The rooms were cosy and comfortable with tea, tele and en-suit with bath ,shower and HOT water to float a ship.
A great cooked breakfast with an assortment of cereals, all tastes catered for if needs be.
An added bonus was the facility of a massage , reflexology and the like.
