We recently spent another 4 nights away at Woodfarm Barns and once again we were not disappointed!
We received a lovely warm welcome from Carl who kindly showed us around the barn as we had not previously stayed in this barn, once again a delightful hamper awaited us which included delicious local produce and a much appreciated dog biscuit for Florence.
Having fallen in love with Woodfarm Barns last April, this stay had a lot to live up to, particularly in the dark winter months where the sunshine of April had been replaced with good old Blighty showers! I needn't have worried as the Barn was beautifully toasty throughout our stay thanks to underfloor heating, sadly no need to use the beautiful wood burner! An added bonus to this stay was the the hot tub in our garden, a wonderful and well thought out addition to the barn with it's beautifully lit covered extension which allowed us to use the hot tub whatever the weather! We thoroughly enjoyed seeing in the new year in the hot tub with candles lit, sipping champagne and planning our next visit.
All this and we were able to bring out four legged baby Florence who also enjoyed her little break.
Thanks Carl and we wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
Having been impressed by our group Springtime stay at Woodfarm House, we booked to return for a more secluded stay at one of the 'collection' of barns. I initially booked Deben Barn as a getaway for myself and partner, but later added Gipping Barn to allow my sister to join us.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we were able to socialise while still having our privacy. The barns are a delight, with every need catered for from utensils to the tasty, locally sourced welcome basket.
The owner (Carl) has created a real niche in this lovely part of the country, merging an eclectic taste and design with a solid brand that is apparent in the differing designs and styles of these fabulous barns.
I have to say, the addition of the outside 'space' with hot tub (Gipping Barn)is inspired! What a lovely, well crafted, quirky area. We loved it, lit up with candles and the finishing touches, it was a delight - even in the rain.
Highly recommended gem, we will be returning.
Great place, fabulous host, perfect accomodation.

Just returned from our second stay this year in the Orwell Barn - we fell in love so much we knew we couldn't think of anywhere better to spend our Christmas.
From the moment we arrive we are given a warm and cheery welcome from the owner
Carl. We unpack our food and can feel all the stress of city life melt away in minutes.
The attention to detail is second to none. It's a home away from home, you want for nothing. Of course this is if your home comes with a hot tub! This has been added on during the year and I was relieved to see how well it had been done to fit in and not overwhelm the gorgeous look of the barn.
We spend the majority of our time cosied up by the fire, cooking dinners and watching old movies. When you need to blow off the cobwebs there are lots of walking options nearby to suit all abilities.
As we do not drive we do rely on public transport. I would recommend if you come up from London to go to Ipswich and take a taxi (£20) rather than go to the closer needham market as the price for the taxi is around the same and we had to wait two hours previously due to the school rush.
100% recommend to anyone who wants to escape for some relaxation and peace and quiet in an utterly charming barn.
My family and I stayed here on the weekend before Christmas, we rented the farmhouse and Deben barn and it was absolutely brilliant! The farmhouse is stunning! And perfect for a family holiday. It was clean, warm and very welcoming. It's so hard to find somewhere that will take dogs let alone the amount of dogs we have! (6!), you are allowed up to 3 per property and each has a secure garden so you can let them out without worrying about them running off! Deben barn was lovely and cosy and the hot tub was great! On arrival each property had a hamper of bread, preserves, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, cookies etc, there was also fresh milk and butter in the fridge for us. There are bikes for guests to use free of charge, as well as DVD's, CD's, books and board games! Everything has been thought of! We will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone! Absolutely perfect!
On our way back from a lovely relaxing weekend in the Deben barn. One word - perfect! Everything was thought of down to little touches like a biscuit for our labradoodle Louie. The breakfast basket was delicious you can't beat fresh bread, bacon and eggs!
Very dog friendly surroundings so nice to be able to go away with our pooch and relax! The hot tub was the highlight for us amazing after long dog walks to just relax with some champagne and unwind even in the torrential wind!
Carl was very welcoming and hospitable we will definitely be making Woodfarm Barns an annual trip away!
Amazing!!
We stayed at Woodfarm Barns this weekend and have just arrived home today. I was frantically searching google for a getaway that was pet friendly for my boyfriends birthday and I came across Woodfarm and the Debden Barn. After looking at all of the stunning pictures and realising it had a hot tub i knew it was perfect and my boyfriend loved it! Along with our one year old border collie buddy.
Upon arrival Carl was very helpful and welcomed us, showed us the barn and handed the keys over. We were very happy with the delicious breakfast hamper and buddy loved his treat!
The garden was Great for us as buddy likes to wonder outside and everything was enclosed so we didn't have to worry about where he was as we knew he couldn't escape. We thoroughly enjoyed the heated floors, after returning from long dog walks in the freezing cold and walking in the front door to that lovely heat was great.
We visited many places such as 'hoppit wood & lake', 'the needham lakes' and the 'coddingham village' where we found a great trail walk through many fields and country lanes. Our favourite was the 'Eastbridge Pub & Dog Walk', I would definitely recommend it if you like s long walk through fields, country lanes, forests and on the beach. You start at the 'Eels Foot Inn' pub and the walk is around 5 miles and the drive was around 40 minutes. We loved it and the dog sleep all afternoon whilst we enjoyed munch deserved relaxation time in the hot tub!
Another perfect touch to the barn was the robes and the slippers. They were so comfortable and warm before and after the hot tub. I think it was -3 degrees one day and we even had snow, but it doesn't matter because when your in the hot tub it feels like it's 30 degrees.
Overall the stay was perfect and we are going to be returning again in April and we are definitely going to come back every 6 months. We loved it so much and Carl was so friendly. 5 stars for everything from us. See you again soon and I have recommended to all of our friends!!
Ps, make sure you read through the Blue folder and the reviews book. They are so helpful if you don't know the area!
Natalie, Lucas and Buddy the border collie!!

We spent a great week (in spite of the weather) with our springer spaniel in Orwell Barn. There
are lots of walks for dogs close by and so many places to visit within easy driving distance When we returned in the evening we were able to relax in the hot tub which has just been installed. This is outside but under cover surrounded by pretty lights, candles an ice bucket and glasses to hand. The whole place is a delight.
Thanks again to Carl who has thought of everything to make a holiday extra special
