Very nice looking outside and didn't disappoint inside. Service was very attentive from drinks at the bar to when we sat down.
New Year's Day menu quite expensive on reflection and maybe should have had a free drink included. But saying that,
the food presentation and taste was very nice.

“good place for lunch”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

Lunched here a number of times this year. It is a typical Vintage inn with a decent menu and range of drinks, including two real ales. The service is good too and we have taken our young grandchildren on a couple of occasions. We have Times plus membership and get 25% off the bill making it excellent value.

“excellent food”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

however... service was VERY slow, we booked a table for 7.15 and as we walked through the waitress said it was a 20 min wait for food after it had been ordered, to which another waiter rudely shouted it was infact going to be a 30 min wait because of a backlog of orders in the kitchen, however, it wasn't even that busy!!! most tables were empty! other than the wait the food was very food and good portion size. we had no cutlery and no milk with our tea's, also we ordered drinks a few times and had to wait atleast 15 mins for us to then remind them to bring us the drinks! also we had extra things on our bill that weren't ours!

“Excellent food, great atmosphere, pleasant staff”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

We ate here for a birthday meal on Saturday evening and it was a success all round.

We had a table of 6 booked for 8pm. With it being a Saturday evening the place was pretty packed but with a nice atmosphere. If you wish to eat win a restaurant with a separation from people just out for a drink then this is probably not the place for you as you are in amongst it.

Some of our table chose the festive menu, which was excellent value for money, and some chose off the regular menu. The staff were very accommodating with allowing us to "mix 'n' match" some of our choices which was very helpful! Food came within reasonable time and courses were just the right time apart. Portion sizes were generous and the quality of food was excellent - nobody could fault any of their dishes.

Value for money - £19.95 for 3 courses on the festive menu - can not complain at that (especially with portion sizes). Regular pub meal prices - £16 for sirloin, £8.95 for pie chips and peas etc. definitely value for money with home-cooked quality of food and size of portions.

Only negatives of our evening - table service could have possibly been a little quicker, at one point one of the table waited 15 minutes for a drink. The desserts also took quite some time from ordering to arriving at our table. I would like to stress the drink waiting time was probably due to it being a Saturday evening as mentioned previously.

Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend!

Thank you for a lovely evening!

“Nice meal ,service a bit slow”
Reviewed December 13, 2013 via mobile

Had our office lunch here ,with a party of thirty people, food was good, well presented, however the waiting staff were in short supply , seemed to have only two girls serving. This meant long waits between courses . Having said that, nice atmosphere , good beer on the pump
