Needed somewhere near Frodsham to stay and this place popped up on a google search. Pleasant reception when we arrived. Colour scheme is like a 60's acid trip in the hallways, bedrooms and the so called conference room that doubles as the breakfast room. On which note reminds me of an infant school dining room although I can't recall kids of that age and era being on acid! Woke each morning feeling like someone had punched me in ther kidneys which I get on a bed that doesn't agree with me. Free breakfast was fine. Unsure wether to give this place a thumbs up or down as it's so weird it has to be seen to be belived. Ok down, there are much better in the vicinity.

Well as someone more famous than me once said – you cannot please all of the people all of the time! However I am not sure what the motivation was for this strange review, but we have our strong suspicion which of our local competitors is behind it.

Genuine Guest reviews always talk about cleanliness, friendliness, room space and condition, location etc – well the fascination with our colour scheme is certainly a first – hope these Guests never visit Homebase, Asda, Sainsbury’s or fly Easy Jet! However the FACTS are that 95% of both the bedrooms and the corridors are painted WHITE - we do use within the other 5% some splashes of orange and green - by the way the two hottest colours for 2009/10 – boring corporate cream is not for us! Indeed, we had a middle aged Guest from Scotland who stayed this week and unprompted said that this was “The coolest hotel on the planet” – she “loved the colours” and the only other references I can find about them in over 50 internet Guest reviews is that they are Fresh & Cheery!

As for the bed, well these Guests walked in – carrying their own memory foam pillows and proceeded to talk at length about their new bed at home with its memory foam mattress and how it had transformed their sleep. Obviously our 6 week old bed and 1200 Pocket Sprung mattress, both manufactured by one of the UK’s most famous and oldest bed makers and supplied to many top rated 4 star hotels across the UK, wasn’t ever going to be good enough!

As for the hotels in the area that are “much better”, if they actually know this to be the case why didn’t they stay in them? Even after this calculated attempt to trash our business, for no good reason, we still have higher Guest internet ratings than ALL the local hotels, some charging double we do!

So we hope these Guests have enjoyed their 2 minutes of fame – I am sure our business will not be damaged by reviews motivated in this way.

I was staying bills payed at the holliday inn in warrington. I switched from bills payed to a secondment allowance as was renting a flat, though the flat was not ready so needed a bed for 1 week.

I found this place online and what a find it turned out to be. I did not expect much due to the price but was very pleasantly supprised. the room was very spacious compared to travel lodge/holiday inn, it had all the amenities and was very clean.

I upgraded to a superior room (difference was around £7 all week so went for it :o).

The location is pretty good, cafe next door, garage the other side and easy to find from the m56 (M6 J20). Nice breakfast, continental though you can order a cooked breakfast for extra cost if you like. also does butties (sandwiches) for lunch if you order the night before, to take to work or on your day trip. The staff are very friendly, and also you dont get the holliday inn style extras charge! room service is free, internet is free, bar is only cans but very reasonably priced, parking is free.

believe me, you wont find a better 3* any where near warrington. not even if you let your company pay £107 per night!

I will be back at warrington for a 3 month secondment (so cant rent a flat this time) in jan 2011, no prizes for guessing where i will stay!

Excellent place to stay with really friendly helpful staff. The little touches are really nice, like having your car washed when you arrive and the meals they will cook for you (although they don't have a restaurant) it just a lovely place to stay and idea for the motorway and northwich. The room we had was the superior room and it was worth every single penny it was huge and so clean and peaceful, and the breakfast in the morning at £4.95 is worth going back for alone - it is fantastic. Well done to the owners of this hotel - you are doing a wonderful job and we think all other hotel owners should book into you overnight for some tips of how to run a WONDERFUL hotel...

After a long and tiring journey it was fantastic to receive such a personal and warm welcome. The owners and staff continued to be helpful and friendly during our stay. Although not a restaurant there was a good enough selection for both of us to eat off the menu in the evening. The food and drinks are just above supermarket prices and are excellent value for those who just want to relax. If you have young children or a special diet there is even a microwave for guests use in the dining area where breakfast is taken. We just had cereals, toast and coffee but there is plenty of selection or order a full English the night before.
The free access to WIFI and free use of a computer was a bonus as was the free, safe and spacious car park.
From the moment we arrived the bright orange and green decor cheered us up as well as in the dark dreary mornings - well done The Happy Guests Lodge for being brave enough to use those colours - it works, keep them.
Our room was spacious, well appointed with clean lines. The bed was just the right size and extremely comfortable. Tea and coffee is provided.
The down side was the shower (we were in room 2) but, and it is a but, the owner has produced wonders at the hotel and as an on-going process the showers should all be up-graded over the coming months.
All in all a pleasant experience and a place to enjoy either for a night or, like us a few days.

We stayed at Happy Guests Lodge for 2 nights during a business trip to the area. It was a great venue with quality accommodation and a really warm welcome from the hosts, Jeff and Marjorie. Highly Recommended!
