My wife and I visited Kodiak Island the first week of October. Our son and new bride moved to Kodiak after he secured a teaching position at the high school. The Rendevous is close to where they live and we thought we would stop and have a beer and a bite to eat. We returned 3 more times! The atmosphere is that of a small local pub with several very good local beers on tap, but what set it apart for us was the tastiness of the food that they served. Especially good was the seafood chowder, Codfish sandwiches, and homestyle french fries. They also have a steak night once per week that featured a huge T Bone, baked potatoe, salad, appetizer and your favorite draught beer, all for about $30, which is a deal on Kodiak. We had other selections that were great as well. The bartenders were very friendly and the locals that hung out there shared their stories of Big Brownie sightings. All in all, The Rendezvous is a great little place to have a beer, a bite to eat, and great conversation.
