Bexter's Tea Room ,Stokesley ,North Yorkshire

Date:- 13/07/13

Venue:- Bexters Tea Room, Stokesley,North Yorkshire

Visitors:- Family with 2 young boys

We visited Bexter's Tea Room on a glorious sunny afternoon, on arrival it was very easy to park as there was a large car park adjacent to the Tea Room.

The character of the building was very impressive, judging by the stone carvings on the outside it appears to have been a church hall in the past. The gated courtyard looked like a very tempting place to relax and watch the world go by whilst sampling various treats and drinks on offer, the walls of the courtyard were also carved with Sunday School, I can imagine children playing on a Sunday morning.

The Tea Room Itself was decorated very tastefully combining modern furniture with country charm. The menu was very tempting, sandwiches / panini's / salads the savoury choice was endless. Coffee / Teas cold drinks the majority of which is sourced from the local area. However the most enticing part of the menu to both my boys (and myself I may add!) was the desert menu. Home made fresh scones / cream teas / cakes, mmm delicious. All served by friendly professional staff with a generous serving of Yorkshire charm.

We all really enjoyed our lunch, so much so I had to buy some of the fresh local tea / preserves, fruit tea and local lemon cheese, and strawberry jam, all of which were eagerly sampled the following morning with breakfast.

“Small but perfectly formed”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We found ourselves there one quiet Saturday and decided to stop for a cuppa, for a small place tucked away it was constantly busy with lots of obvious regulars who come again and again. I'm pleased to report that the offerings were first class, also the staff were very attentive and friendly, it was a wrench to leave. I recommend the scones, both savoury and sweet - apparently they are home made by the owner every day
