After much organisation, our large family group of 17 adults and 4 children ( age range 1-75) descended on Penbridge Court for Christmas. This property had been chosen for the Big Event after much research nearly two years ago, mainly for the accommodation on offer and its location. We needed somewhere accessible to rail and road travel that offered sufficient bedrooms and bathrooms for all, with no bunks and no temporary beds, ensuring comfort and privacy for all. Penbridge Barn and 3 cottages fulfilled the brief perfectly with the added advantages of lots of space indoors, a pool table and different sitting areas plus play equipment in the garden for the children and a hot tub for adults. We tested the cooking facilities tremendously and had to use all the cottage ovens too for Christmas lunch. Sam, the super housekeeper, tells us that increasing cooking facilities in the main barn is being planned. We would imagine that it would not be an issue in summer months when the BBQs would be used. The Barn and cottages are beautifully and tastefully furnished and really feel like a home from home, not a rental property. Groups enjoyed the Santa Express, walks to local pubs, spending Christmas money in Taunton sales and we all had a fantastic time being together in such comfortable, warm and welcoming accommodation. An absolutely magical Christmas- thank you Sam and team!

Thanks to Sam and the team at Penbridge Court and Barns for a fantastic stay. The photo's on the various websites do not do justice to this majestic property. The owners have covered every detail and then some to make this a truly luxurious break and we can not thank them enough. Every member of our party and Molly (our Bassett Hound) had a fantastic time during our 5 day stay and we will re-live the great memories we have for a very long time to come.
If you like complaining about noisy builders next doors, cracked tiles, poor décor, mouldy grout etc., then do not stay here as you will be disappointed - there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Each year we rent a large property for our ever growing family reunion. I can honestly say that the Penbridge Court Barn and cottages surpassed all previous venues by a country mile. Reached via a narrow country lane the setting is quite magical, looking out over a valley with a steam railway running though it. The property, is spacious and allowed each part of the family to have their own space and privacy when they wanted it. In our party we had five children aged five and under and despite typically wet West Country weather there was plenty to occupy them in the house. When the sun did shine there were trampolines, playhouses and a whole mass of outdoor games. The adults were equally well catered for with puzzles, games and more importantly full blown Sky packages. Whilst we were there the internet was poor, but Sky were upgrading to fibre optic as we left so this should now also be sorted.
All of the property was amazingly clean and very well appointed. Would we recommend this property to others? Definitely!

Following a visit to The Barn last September with a group of friends we knew it would be a wonderful place to stay for a family holiday. Our family consists of grandparents to grandchildren (4 & 4 months). The kitchen was appreciated for its size & equipment provided, also the lovely welcome basket ( particularly the biscuits)! The spacious garden with the child's climbing frame/swing, trampoline & table tennis were much used as was the hot tub. There are plenty of things to do & places to visit in the area. Our visit coincided with The Minehead Festival, the highlights being The West Somerset Railway Steam Train journey & The Red Arrows display when we arrived.
At the end of each day we gathered together to have dinner at the long table in the open plan kitchen. We also had some good food & beer in The Farmers Arms.
All the family enjoyed staying at The Barn so I am sure will be back in the future.

We were a group of 20 friends in our mid-twenties wanting a fun summer holiday in the country. We hired the barn and all 3 cottages for a Monday to Friday break and had a fantastic time.
The facilities were amazing with plenty of space for all of us to sleep, cook and sit around the very large dining room table, as well as entertain ourselves with pool, table football, table tennis, badminton, and of course the wonderful hot tub.
We would highly recommend Penbridge Barn & Cottages.

The location is lovely, the facilities - inside and out - are fantastic. You would have to be very difficult to please if you couldn't find something to entertain yourself. There is plenty of space inside and out for anyone who wants a quiet read (or watch the cricket/golf!). The kitchen is very well equipped with enough crockery to cater for an army and plenty of pans/cafetieres/glasses etc
We were a party ranging from 6 months to 75 years and we all had a lovely time, coming away relaxed and cheerful after a weekend spent doing pretty much what we pleased.
If there was any fault (and I'm being really picky here) - the showers in some of the bathrooms could be better and we had to abandon our walk to the Farmers Arms on the Sunday as we had neglected to take a machete with us !

We had an idyllic family get together here to celebrate a 50th birthday. The following things particularly impressed us:
- The property was really spacious. Although we were a party of 20 (with lots of children), we had more than enough space. There were lots of comfortable places to sit and chat
and the huge kitchen meant that preparing meals was easy and sociable. The kitchen was really well appointed too.
- The gardens were beautiful and the children loved the large trampoline, table tennis, croquet - and of course the hot tub. This was in addition to the pool table and football table inside.
- The managers of the property couldn't have been more helpful in dealing with our questions and requests.
In short, huge attention to detail ensured that all ages were catered for, there was space for everyone to do their own thing together, it was really well appointed but homely - just totally comfortable. We hope to visit again soon!
