“Ann N /Best B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

This was my first visit to Bwlch y Fedwen and I received a warm welcome from Alison. The selection at breakfast and courtesy tray rivalled any four or five star hotel, and would have satisfied even the most discerning traveller. The room was warm and comfortable and even extended to a fan and a hot water bottle. Even though it was near the road there was no traffic noise and plenty of car parking space.

Room Tip: No preference as I would stay in any of them

Thank you Ann, for the kind review. It is always nice to spoil our single travellers, especially when they are staying with us, as you were, because of a bereavement. We hope having somewhere comfortable and quiet to retreat to made your trip in some way easier.

My partner, Jane, and I spent our second 7 day break at Bwlch y Fedwen. This time we were in the more spacious Glaslyn room with its comfortable king-size bed, but it's the extras and attention to detail that make the difference. There is the mini-fridge with milk, the homemade cakes on arrival and again when we returned early one afternoon, the teas, coffees, biscuits, the toiletries - one could go on and on. However, it's Alison as the hostess and her increasingly famous breakfasts that make this B&B special. The outside steps to the rooms may be a problem for some and it requires care when leaving with a vehicle but we would definitely recommend a stay.

Room Tip: The two rooms at the back are larger.

Thank you for a delightful stay, nothing to much trouble and a very warm welcome. The extras provided are amazing, down to the home made cake in our room on arrival, Breakfast selection first class with lovely home made preserves. Alison is an excellent hostess we will return and recommend her lovely B & B.

Alison still has the best B&B, certain;y in Wales and probably in the whole of the British Isles. We have stayed in all three rooms and they are all very comfortable. We went into Tremadog for dinner and Alison offered to run us to the restaurant and bring us back so we could have a drink. We didn't take her up on the service but what an amazingly kind thing to offer, not many B&B owners would make it!
Breakfast still phenominal.
Looking forward to the next trip to this wonderful part of the world

Room Tip: Any but the back rooms are the best

This was a last minute booking for a 3 night break and we tried a couple of places which were dearer than Bwlch y Fedwen and offered no discount so we were lucky enough that Alison had a space for us. She has been solidly booked up so we were pleased to get 3 nights. On arrival we actually passed the place so keep a lookout as it is on an awkward bend. The room we had was the Glaslyn room which has 2 windows, a kingsize bed and an en-suite which has a shower over the bath. Now I generally prefer a walk in shower but everything else was so perfect that it didn't matter so for a change I had a soak one night which was lovely!! Hospitality tray extremely well equipped, small bottle of wine on our arrival along with homemade cakes, shortbread biscuits, sweets little fridge with milk in. Slipper's in a pack, bathrobes, heater, fan, toiletries..free wi-fi, everything!! Lovely little breakfast room which was accessed without having to use the main house (same with bedrooms) Breakfasts amazing so much choice, beautiful outside seating area which we used one sunny evening. Alison was the perfect hostess with an extensive knowledge of the area with tips and recommendations. If I had a negative then an extremely minor one would be the website says the room has an i-pod/i-phone docking station so I didn't take my i-phone charger with me and there wasn't one in the room BUT I asked Alison and straightaway she got me the charger plug (I had a lead in the car) So things get sorted immediately!! I would definitely recommend!!

Best B & B we have stayed . The rooms were spacious and well appointed and the breakfast was amazing. Alison has thought of everything when it comes to tempting you with her delicious breakfast. The fresh fruit was beautiful and very much appreciated. There is a welcome of freshly baked scones jam and cream on arrival plus lots of extras and an amazing supply of tea/coffee sachets to suit everyone's taste. Thank you Alison and David. Great hosts - you are doing everything right.

A short notice 4 day break because of the lovely weather and we were lucky enough to choose Bwlch y Fedwen. A very comfortable roomy room with loads of storage space, and a good shower. Alison is the perfect hostess and her breakfasts are fantastic with an excellent choice to suit all tastes and appetites.
