The lodge is nestled amongst the sand dunes, sheltered from the winter winds with views of Kapiti island. Our suite was beautifully decorated and very private. Robyn took care of our every need. We had views of the sunrise and sunsets. We loved the ambience and peace. We’ll be back!

What a wonderful place to recharge on the beautiful Kapiti Coast! Peka Peka Beach is a stroll over the sand dunes and Kapiti Island could be seen from our suite. Everything provided was of the highest quality and we enjoyed the New Zealand art we saw everywhere.
We loved meeting Robyn who was a fabulous hostess and wonderful cook. She has created a very special place where you instantly feel relaxed & calm. We highly recommend Atahuri as a place to unwind & enjoy beautiful surroundings!

We stayed 4 nights in this elegant, artistic and comfortable place to stay, whilst attending a family wedding. From the moment of arrival and we met Robyn the scene was set. We sat and chatted whilst eating delicious cake and tea. Our room, OiOi was everything you could want, private Courtyard & a sitting area overlooking the dunes, lovely artistic touches and a magnificent en-suite. The breakfast menu was delightful and I had a different choice every morning with different fruit dishes. We also had dinner cooked by Robyn on 1 evening, the food was lovely and the conversation flowed. It would have been nice to stay longer (we had family commitments) to enjoy more of the surroundings but I had booked our itinerary ahead.

We must return to this fabulous coast and in particular, to this wonderful lodge. Robyn made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, sitting with tea and cake whilst discussing possible activities in the area.

Our room was beautiful and comfortable, with a fabulous bathroom, with windows and patio doors to a private outdoor area, from which you can cross the grass to the sand dunes and the beach (safe swimming). I already miss my evening beach walks and my husband found it perfect for a barefoot run before breakfast.

Robyn is a great and enthusiastic cook, so breakfast was a fabulous start to each day. Dinner was better still... three delicious courses, accompanied by happy conversation with our well-travelled host... when we left after two nights, it was like leaving an old friend. And the views from the dining table, across the sand dunes to a beautiful sunset - glorious!

We wished we had stayed longer, so that we could visit Kapiti Island (a bird reserve) and walk the Paekakariki Escarpment trail. There is much to explore, with beach and sea for miles, backed by high hills, with delightful small towns along the way. We did get to the Southward Motor Museum... an amazing collection and an unexpected treat. The Kapiti coast caught us by surprise, perhaps a well kept secret?

I booked two nights at Atahuri for my wife’s birthday celebrations and we were not disappointed!! Robyn greeted us with open arms her friendly hospitality made you feel at home straight away and this continued over our whole stay. We dined in the first night and Robyn created the most amazing seafood dinner as was the standard of food over the whole weekend. The second night we were recommended 50/50 for dinner by Robyn in nearby Waikanae another amazing meal as we chose the 9 course degustation tasting menu.

Robyn was the perfect host giving us both private time alone but making sure we had everything we needed. We were lucky enough to be the only ones staying at Atahuri and the weather was perfect allowing swims in the pool and lovely walks & picnics on the beach.

We look forward to our next visit to Atahuri and Thanks! Robyn for making our celebrations so special
