Hello since 1,5 years i visit the novotel lombok, cause i need do business in praya and its the closest hotel there. Novotel is the only 4 Star in Kuta where you can stay in my opinion. But since I visit the hotel service and all going down only price go up. The hotel was renovated in spring 2011 and finished renovation in august 2011 but within 6 month the rooms all broken again. the spanish locking system "quinity" is not working proper, so it can be, you stand in front of a locked door and need go 2-3 times to reception until u can reenter. the bathroom ceramics partially broken, the beton between ceramics broke out, dust on the glas bottom in bathroom.the milkglas door between bathroom and bedroom mostly dirty never saw anyone cleaning. bedware sometimes dirty like i used to from ibis hotel. i always order 2 extra bed for the kids this i do in writtten and oral form, but in all this visited they never made it that there was a extra bed in room. In August 2011 in many rooms the sink was not working, so guest had broken toilet room stinky, but guest did not get any return for this. the service is really bad, everyone always say:sorry but no one change anything. if you have trouble with ur room you will never get any upgrade or roomchange except you complain like hell. Mr Townsend the gm and mr jaya the manager on duty in my opinion not able to run a Hotel. within 10 days of my last stays I only saw mr townsend 2 times in the hotel, in my opinion gm should be there care about hotel especially hotel goes down. Lets talk about the food. food is horror in there, in bf the cut many things last 12 month, like local sasak corner, no one bring you coffee need to take yourself. danish pastry reduced in varaity. from the menu all taste like hell..beefburger steak sandwich is think like slice of paper but price hell expensice, soup Buntut local oxtail normally really tasty is made without love vegetables only potato and carrot no green inside no crackers nothing. the price for the hotel is going up. So i can only recomment better not visit this hotel cause you not get what u pay for.

The reason for choosing this hotel and Lombok as a destination firstly was LOCATION and secondly NOVOTEL brand. And we were not disappointed at all about this destination. Our 2 bedroom family villa No. 602 was beautifully refurnished and located on an amazing beach. The only disappointment was, that our private pool villa does not have a normal pool like other pool villas (only jacuzzi and baby pool). Anyway we enjoyed our long stay there very much. Although during this Christmas period hotel offers many different activities we did monkey visit (wonderful), still it is very relaxing and quiet place. The beach was never crowded with tourists. The place is very suitable for families with children. Breakfast buffer with plenty of choices. We enjoyed having buffer dinner followed by wonderful entertainment every night. Our favorite was STAFF SHOW, kids loved it. Food was delicious with plenty of choices and every night different cuisine (Indonesian, Sasak, International...) they always had fresh meat and fish for barbecue. We enjoyed the tranquility of this resort very much. They also have wonderful massages.

Room Tip: privat pool vila for a relaxing stay

Visit and stay at this hotel was overall very disappointing, Arrived around 15.00 but checking was a long drawn-out process and it was only after becoming very short with the staff that I was checked in.

The hotel rooms were average for the price and the menus on offer were very plain to say the least, the menus in the restaurants were as plain as the room service menu. having decided to order of the room service menu two simple things fish & chips and a pizza, the fish and chips arrived without any tartar sauce excuse they ran out not sure how this can be?? The pizza was terrible and the dessert ordered was also not available. The one way air port transfer was 3 times the price of the metered taxi.

All in all very disappointing and I would not recommend this to anybody or any members of the Accor Advantage plus scheme (IF GOING TO LOMBOK STAY AT THE SHERATON!!!) it is worth the extra drive.

We have stayed at this resort on 4 occasions over the years, it is the only "resort" in the area that suits my western comforts, yet utilises the beauty of the village of sasak.
Our most recent visit was for my husbands 40th birthday in october 2011, this visit also brought the addition of our 3 year old, it had been 4 years since our last visit.

The resort like all has it's good and bad points, we love the area and the fact that it remains relatively uniscovered, however the new airport opened (finally) when we were there, i doubt that the area will stay tranquil which is ashame but like all things progress is underway.
We checked into a pool villa and it was beautiful as expected, we have stayed in all rooms now prior to the refurbishment, i have been pleased with all rooms, the only down fall on check in was as usual our room was not ready, it has never been ready on time, which i dont find acceptable when you have booked months in advance and are travelling with a child, the childs bed was not set up, which should have been as i had emailed prior to advise this.
It took a long time for the bed to be set up.
We had stayed in a villa prior so i expected that we would use the day bed, but there was none...
The only thing i would change about the villas, are the fridges, our's was useless, and when you are staying for a week you dont want to have to walk to the bar each time you would like a cold drink, I was also expecting that the drinks be complimentary and afternoon tea would be served as per previous visits, however this was no longer the case.

Bugs and Geckos dont worry me, it is part of travel in indonesia, we had a gecko in our room, all part of the experience.

We ate all our evening meals from the buffet or vue restaurant.
The buffet has entertainment each night which we all enjoyed, as advantage plus members i found it to be of good value, however i agree drinks are very overpriced and cocktails varied greatly on whoever was making them,
We were really happy with all the buffet meals and felt that both the buffet and restaurant standard had infact improved, the only dissapointment i had was with our child's meals when he ate at vue, the childs menu for western children needs an overhaul, all deep fried and yuk, and when we did order from it, it was never as descriped. our waiter had no idea that there was even a childs menu.

We enjoyed happy hour on the beach most afternoons, the sunset is beautiful. We would have drank a whole lot more if there was more staff on to keep up with the orders.
The beach is very relaxing, take beach shoes as there is a lot of coral and sea life.
We hired motorbikes from our friend at Kuta Indah hotel, to explore the coast.
I would recomend eating at Kuta Indah as a cheaper option, or alternative.

The spa has improved by 100 percent on our last visit, the treatments are reasonably priced for a resort spa, and staff are lovely.

Do the monkey visit walk, make sure you take water it is very hot but my 3 year old loved it and loved Wristman the tour guide, all the guys on the beach desk are great.

The man in the business centre was lovely to chat with and very friendly.

we didnt use kids club as our son was too young, however i observed and the children seemed to be enjoying themselves doing crafts.

Overall the only real issue we had was the kids menu and check out.
I have always found reception to be unhelpful and slow again this was the case.

upon returning from dinner on our last evening our bill was under our door
I went to settle our bill straight away, as we had an early flight.
we had not had anything from the mini bar that dayor evening. I returned the key the following morning and was told all was ok.
As we were driving off there was a big uproar to stop our car and i had to pay more money for the minibar that was supposedly checked the day prior.
It was very embarrasing as other guests were looking and i was confused as i had just been told everything was fine.
Instead of feeling that relaxed resort feeling, of holiday over all relaxed, I left uptight with a sour taste in my mouth as we drove off, The whole thing could have been handled a lot better.

All in all the place is beautiful and if you want to go and just relax that is the place to be,
We will return as the issues we had were not big ones, how ever I have written this review hoping that there could be some re traning by management in the areas required.

I stay in Novotel Lombok from 25-28 December 2011, during Christmas and New Year period, but when we stayed there very-very limited program in the hotel. No water sport (only free canoe). In other hotels usually many program during Christmas and New Year. Novotel Lombok is far from everywhere, not near to downtown so the hotel programs and facilities is a must. We talked with hotel staff and according to them that this is happen since the new Boss, Mr. Brian, become the head of Hotel. I do not know it's true or not.
Regarding the service is not so good, for example when we need tea bag and sugar, we call room service twice and they did not send to us until the day after we have to call them again, after that two room boys send us two times.
But the condition of the hotel / room is good, they maintain well.

The resort was beautiful, room was great and the pools fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a bit far out from the main streets of Kuta, so it would have been helpful if the resort provided a free shuttle or bikes to get around - unfortunately you have to pay. The food was ok, and a lot better than some of the other local other food in Kuta, but again overpriced. If the food was good I would have been happy to pay the prices. Overall I really liked this resort but it could have been a much more enjoyable stay with better food and free bikes or shuttle.
