The house is huge and the normal rooms are comfortable. Owners are pefect and really helpfull and staff always smiling. 2mn from center with cheap motorbike. Free Orientation Tour also very usefull. If hungry they can also prepare nice dinner with very fresh fish from the day :) just bring earplugs if you are very sensible. Will come back soon!

I had a brilliant stay at Mimpi Manis. Gemma and Made were brilliant hosts and i felt like family rather than a guest. The rest of the staff are also lovely. Made gave a free orientation tour of all the lovely beaches and the surrounding area. Also, as it isn't really in the centre of Kuta they were always offering to take me to the restaurants and beaches etc and to pick me up as well, free of charge!

The rooms are lovely, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There is also a DVD player in the room and thousands of films to choose from. I definately got through a few. I also had a few beers and some good chats with Gemma and she also has very good knowledge of Kuta. Wifi wasn't available but Gemma let me use her personal laptop which was brilliant. She is also looking into getting wifi set up.

I ended up staying an extra night as i didn't really want to leave. I would recommend Mimpi Manis to everyone!

I phoned ahead from Mataram and booked a room. Gemma, the owner, said "if you can get here in the next two hours, we're going to a circumcision, and you're welcome to join us". Well, how could I refuse!

The rooms are very nice and comfortable, spotlessly clean. The first night I stayed in the "house" - a little detached building with two floors which sleeps 2-3 and has its own little balcony, TV, water cooler etc., which was lovely.

The staff and owners could not have been more friendly - happy to provide food or drink at strange hours, and we watched TV in Gemma's house when there was a big item on the news (it was the day Bin Laden was killed - one of the girls who worked there said, "who?"). There is a library of DVDs and another of books, all of which you are welcome to browse.

And the moped rental was great, as it allowed me to see the sights and get out of the town to further flung beaches which otherwise would be quite hard to get to. This also flags up the *only* downside of Mimpi Manis, which is that it's a little too far out of Kuta to walk, except maybe when it's cool. But I never noticed, because as soon as I appeared from my room, someone was on hand to ask me if I wanted a lift into the main bar and eating strip, and Gemma was also happy to come and fetch us after dinner - all free of charge.

I ended up staying a day or two longer than I had planned, because I couldn't see any reason to leave. A lovely place and very nice people, and I will come back to Kuta some time soon. I'm gushing, so I'll stop. Recommended!

Room tip: If you are two or three people, ask for the

I stayed at Mimpi Manis for 3 nights, this was my 4th time staying at Mimpi Manis. It is a very nice, friendly and clean homestay and really excellent value for money. I stayed in the a/c room, although didn't use the a/c as August is not hot. The rooms had been freshened up since my last stay, not that they were all that tired to start with, but it is great that the owners pay attention to the upkeep of the property.

The rooms are really clean, the bathroom has a western toilet and shower, with cold water. There are also free DVDs with an extensive DVD library if you feel like a quiet night in. A laundry service is also offered at a minimal cost.

Gemma and Made are fabulous hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and it is really great to chat with them about south Lombok. They arranged my motor bike hire for a very competitive rate, and took me on an orientation tour of the local area. Although I've been to Kuta previously, things are changing there, and road conditions are also different from the past, so it was great to quickly get my bearings so I could later explore on my own.

I love the banana pancakes cooked by Ipu for breakfast, they are the best I've had in Lombok! Great Lombok coffee too.

Mimpi Manis does not currently have wi-fi, but there are plans to provide this service in the near future, so if that is something you need perhaps check with them to see if it is available yet.

My stay was during Ramadan and the local mosque was active with loud speakers used in the evening. Earlier in the evening there was often quite nice music that I found enjoyable to listen to. The noise finished around midnight, which was fine with me. I didn't hear the mosque in the early morning, not sure it broadcast the dawn call to prayer at all. Having experienced Ramadan in Indonesia previously I packed some earplugs, and would recommend others do the same - you are likely to need them whereever you stay.

Mimpi Manis have their own car, and I also used their transport service to get from Kuta to Teluk Kodek near Bangsal for my transfer to the Gilis. Made was a good driver and I felt very safe with him at the wheel.

I will definately be back.

We stayed at Mimpi manis for 3 nights. On arrival Made took us on a orientation tour of the local area to some of the beautiful and quiet beaches near to Kuta. Made and Gemma gave us great advice about motorbike and cycle rental, helped us with booking surfing and generally looked after us. The rooms are simple and clean which is reflected in the reasonable room rate. The homestay is about a mile out of town but an easy cycle or Made offers a drop off service in the morning.
