My friend and i were attending a funeral at the woodland burial site in Fenwick. We were early and decided to stop off at the Kings Arms for a quick drink. As we enjoyed our drink in this quaint and comfortable establishment, my nose was filled with the delicious smell of home cooking. We didn't have time for a main course from a menu with a decent selection of dishes, so we ordered a quick bite in the form of a starter each. my friend ordered a piping hot bowl of real homemade delicious soup and i had the haggis gateux with a whiskey cream sauce, it was heavenly. The food was great and the other people dining seemed to be enjoying theirs too. Very helpfull friendly young lady behind the bar. I will need to return there to try other dishes from the menu, but i would need to have the haggis starter again.

In the village of Fenwick just off the A77 near Kilmarnock. The bar is busy and the food tables are at the end of the bar. The table we had was between the front door and the door to the car park. As the pub is busy people are coming and going all the time. On a winter evening the draught was really quite cold and we were dreading the doors opening. We probably had the worst possible table and some of the other tables MAY not have the same problem. That is the downside, the upside is the pub grub is good and very reasonably priced. There was six in our party and every one of us enjoyed our meal. The service was good with a pleasant server. It is well worth popping into Fenwick off the A77 to visit the King's Arms just wear your long johns if it is a cold day.

I have visited the Kings Arms a few times with family previously, and again on New Years day. This is a great wee pub, with good food, friendly staff and great live music. If I lived nearer, would visit every weekend! Top marks to management for giving it a lovely, friendly and fun atmosphere - the live music really makes it. Just wish it was nearer to me..;-)
