Been out to Maldon with partner, daughter and grandson and on return offered lunch ( I wanted fish and chips) and as we were driving through Danbury stopped at the Bell. Been past it many times but it looks a bit dusty from the outside but don't be put off - really clean inside with modern feel (excellent clean toilets - always a good sign). It wasn't very busy and as sun shining we sat outside. The lunch menu was pretty comprehensive and similar price to other pubs around. I had fish and chips, partner had vegi-burger that she described as delicious and daughter and grandson shared a home made Pizza; and this was home made to judge by the shape. But to concentrate on the fish and chips in the menu it just said fresh from the north sea and I was surprised to find it was battered Sea Bass - an unusual choice but delicious; and the chips were the ubiquitous 'thrice cooked' . the cost for 4 with drinks was approx. £40 and I will definitely eat there again - one of the best pub diners around

Thank you for your positive feedback. We do try to be a pub first that sells nice food. I'm glad your visit with us was enjoyable. We do a lovely homemade curry on Mondays for £4.95 and homemade pies on Wednesdays for £5.95. Again thank you for taking the time to review us.
