Enjoyed our stay at Tillet's Village. The room was simple and comfortable and very affordable (hot showers and a fan). The food was very good. Sean, the manager, was fun to talk with but also made the stay very comfortable. We took the river excursion to Lamanai, which we highly recommend. You are driven from the Crooked Tree Village to Tower Hill where you jump on the boat (the food on the boat trip was also really good!). We are interested in birds, plants, other wildlife and there is much to see from our room---Blue Grey Tanagers were feeding in the breadfruit tree next to our room. From Tillet's, we walked multiple trails/roads to go bird watching (a map and guidance on the trails are provided at the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary Visitor's Center-on the right just after entering the village) and everyone we met was very nice and welcoming. The entire village is very walkable and there are bird sites throughout----we were there for two nights and left with a list of things to do when we return.
