My husband and I had the pleasure of staying one night at Gumbo Limbo while exploring the Mountain Pine Ridge area of Belize. The property has stunning views and watching the stars in the night sky was just overwhelming beautiful. The pool is refreshing, the rooms are immaculate and the breakfast was delicious. The owners are wonderful hosts to their guest. We will be returning to Gumbo Limbo in the near future.
We and another couple stayed here in February, enjoying every minute of our stay there. The rooms are private and comfortable, the architecture so pleasing, the management and staff extraordinary, the food delicious, the location and ambience beautiful, and the whole stay was very special. It was a great place from which to explore the Cayo District, take a trip to Tikal, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet around the pool. Mike and Jenny took time to customize and personalize our stay there, which was a real plus. We Northwesterners certainly appreciated the French press coffee all ready for us each morning too! All four of us said we will return if we ever have the chance.
This was like staying at someone’s house, as they only have four bungalows. Very intimate. The rooms are very large; add an extra bathroom and they could be divided into two. It’s very quiet; the garden is beautiful, the pool is small and freezing, but nice. You need your own car to get somewhere or pay a lot of money for taxi. But we hade arranged tours with Pacz two days (they were great!). We had dinner twice at the resort, “English” type food (not surprising maybe, as the owners are a retired English couple), not bad but not exiting either. The owners are really very nice and friendly. But it's a little too off if you want to move around by yourself and dont't have a car.
We stayed here for one night in February and wish we had time to stay longer. The accomodation is in an incredible location, very peaceful, with beautiful views over the jungle. The cabins are very spacious and clean with large glass fronts again providing views out over the estate. Mike and Jenny (originally from Yorkshire - and still haven't lost their accents!) were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they provided a wealth of information about local sites, travel directions and lunchstops. Dinner in the evening was delicious and plentiful and very surprising to be served on china and crystal! Plenty of birdlife around including a fantastic "Parrot fly-by" on the evening. All in all highly recommended!
Gumbo Limbo is a beautiful, friendly, small, quiet, clean place to stay… comfort in the Jungle! The rooms are huge, clean, and beautifully built, overlooking the pool and surrounding jungle. The owners, Mike and Jenny, were extremely friendly and helpful! They planned all our excursions for us, had lovely meals ready each day (ask for the pineapple upside down cake), and genuinely cared about ensuring our trip was everything we wanted it to be! We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Gumbo Limbo and highly recommend it!
Breathtakingly beautiful! I arrived a stranger...& left..... hugging Jenny and Mike as family. Eme and Cris prepared delectable meals, a mouth watering sensation every evening served elegantly on the lanai on white tablecloths with crystal & china settings. Pots of tea & fresh fruit every morning! My spacious cabana was immaculate. The pool was clean and so very refreshing after warm days of touring. Every wish, need, & desire was more than met. Jenny & Mike are my family in Belize. They allowed me to fall in love with Belize and have encouraged me to travel even farther abroad as they shared wonderful stories of their travels! They will be my friends for life and my choice of residence when visiting Belize in the future. Jenny & Mike....I love you two! Big hugs!
