We visited today with our two young boys to see the Narnia grotto as they are both mad about the film. We got there nice and early and were allowed in the grounds so the boys can play on the climbing frames etc.... Nearer the time we went to the tent and there were plenty of activities to do before the grotto itself. When it was time to go to Narnia we waited outside the wardrobe an
d when opened had to fight our way through the coats and then entered the magical world. It was fabulous, the boys loved it and their faces when they saw Mr Tumnus ! For £9 a child I think it was underpriced I would have paid £15 each ! Thanks Penshurst a wonderful start to our Christmas !!

This is our local haunt and by far our favorite place in the South East. We came to the Narnia grotto last year and there were a few kinks but all in all it was so much nicer than anything else going. Several friends came down from London, traveling well over an hour and they thought it was so worth the effort that we all booked in again this year! It was my son's 3rd birthday on the day we booked and everyone from the lovely ladies at the front, to Mr. Tumnus and Father Christmas to the staff in the cafe were wonderful and welcoming and made him feel really special. I can't say enough good about this charming place, well worth the effort every time!

We arrived at Penshurst after a complicated morning. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They managed to change our 2 separate appointments into 1 and talked us through the various events on offer. We enjoyed an almost empty adventure playground and did some of the Narnia quiz! My daughter loved the face painting in the activity tent and both of my children enjoyed the colouring. We didn't do any of the decorating of the tree or the craft santas, but we were told we could return after Santa and have more time in the tent.
The staff and characters were so friendly and lovely. It really made the visit feel special. Going through the wardrobe was so fun and Mr Tumnus was really good. We weren't rushed and felt each character really put in 110% as if we were the only people there! Father Christmas was lovely and funny too. Good gift for the kids and it felt we had a long time with FC.
It was our first year at Penshurst and would definitely go again. We liked the fact it was small and low key but beautifully done and felt very special.
Thank you Penshurst!

a beautiful setting and building. Really recommend the farmers market on the first Saturday of each month. Be warned times 09.00 and closes 12.00. Really good fresh local produce
The house is very worth a visit and is open all day, nice tea rooms and snack bar

We have just visited today for our 5th year in a row, didn't believe it could be better than last year but completely blown away with the fantastic grotto. Well worth the money just for the trip through the wardrobe to see Father Christmas and receive a superb present!! We always include a visit to the gift shop and as usual not disappointed. So many Christmas present ideas, never go away empty handed. The staff as usual were helpful, friendly and made the whole experience, brilliant value for money and a fantastic afternoon out. Can't wait to book for next year!!!
