Beautiful scenery, nice eateries, boat trips, some good lengthy walks and a couple of pubs makes Foxton Locks a nice place to visit for an afternoon in the sun.

A lovely area with great scenery. Loads of people about. Some good restaurants and bars. The locks are a marvel of 200 year-old engineering. A must visit venue.

Great attraction for all the family. Leisurely walk along the canal footpath where once horses towed the working barges more than 150 years ago. Watch the present day holiday vessels negociate the 10 locks in 45 minutes or visit the Pump house museum. Marvel at the ruins of the late Victorian engineers who built an incline plane to detour around the locks in a faster time. Take in the peacefulness broken only by birdsong and chugging longboat motors.Plenty of refreshments for adults (two pubs) and children, that can be enjoyed at the water's edge.Ducks and swans aplenty.

We've been here for the first time: it was a sunny day and it was so lovely to watch the narrowboats in the locks. We sat down at the canal and joined the atmosphere.

Lovely little gem by canal not far from Market Harborough with parking facility which are charged for although I had disabled badge which entitles me to free parking! Nice walks along canal and plenty of children and dogs enjoying the location!
