We stayed in a twin room for one night and were very impressed with the whole experience. There were plenty of vegetarian options in the restaurant and the whole meal was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Discovered this place whilst cycling around keilder resovoir.

Really friendly and warm staff. Great beer and a perfect lunch for 3 starving cyclists!

I then noticed it had been awarded trip advisor pub of the year in 2013... And can see why. Week done.

stayed over the bank holiday weekend , the welcome on arrival was very warm and friendly even with three dogs in tow. we stayed in the family room as this was the last room available and the little touches like dog biscuits and poo bags made a great impression. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was excellent before retiring to the bar for post dinner drinks with the dogs. The bar also offers a "doggie" menu if required and pets are more than welcome in the bar area, the welcome in the bar was very friendly and we had a great evening chatting with locals
we would definitely return again

Ate here over bank holiday weekend and enjoyed our evening.
Bar man was friendly and welcoming and seemed to care that we had a nice evening.
We both had 3 courses all of which were tasty. Nothing our of the ordinary but good, solid "pub grub"
We found it pretty good value to at about £27 a head including 3 courses, a couple of alcohol and soft drinks each and a liquor coffee

My Husband, the dog and myself booked to stay in March 2014 for Good Friday (Friday 18th April 2014), when we arrived we where greeted by a wonderful lady who showed us to the room, which was of excellent standard and explained the house rules, later that evening we went down to the bar with the Dog, and enjoyed a lovely bar meal, the dog made himself at home by sitting on the large read leather chair nobody seemed to mind, the barman and locals where all friendly and we had a wonderful evening with good food, breakfast the next day was fantastic well cooked and all hot, the hosts could not have done more to make us feel welcome, we will go back to stay again
