We stayed here for three nights at the end of a two week holiday and we hardly ventured out of the grounds. Luckily for us, the weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed doing very little in the stunning surroundings of the chateau. Jordi and Edouard were very hospitable and made us feel comfortable and relaxed despite the grand surroundings. We were lucky enough to dine outdoors for two of the three nights, with five delicious courses each night accompanied by a detailed explanation of each dish and its ingredients. Breakfast was perfect too - a really good range of food to choose from. The pool was lovely and there are lots of places to sit and lounge elsewhere in the gardens too, as well as a very nice music salon inside if the weather is cooler. Although it's not cheap, it feels luxurious and therefore good value for money. We wouldn't hesitate to go back for another short stay in the future.

Room Tip: We had room number one and were initially concerned about noise given that it was next to a shared l...

A three day stay at Chateau La Thuiliere in May 2012 left us wanting to return. The hosts Jordi and Eduard are both professional and friendly. We felt immediately at ease with the house and property. Evening meals were exquisite, with the portions just perfect. The breakfasts were also excellent. Ordering a snack and a glass of rose (for a light lunch on the lawn) was one of the many highlights. To the hosts credit, as with some other Hotels, we felt no pressure at all to "vacate the premises" during the day. It was one of the most relaxing getaways we have had in quite awhile. The stars at night are stunningly clear and the proximity to Perigueux is a bonus. We would gladly return. Michael and Rick, Victoria BC Canada

Chateau La Thuiliere honestly surpassed our expectations.
The atmosphere is one of friendly, informal, and relaxed luxury, which instantly puts you at ease. The owners, Jordi and Eduard, made us feel incredibly welcome, and their passion for their food, wine, and hotel shone through. The food was delicious, the setting amazing, the rooms very comfortable, and the 'feel' of the chateau was really special. If you're looking to really treat yourself for a few days I would really recommend it. Also just 25 mins drive from Bergerac airport

We stayed here for one night and wished it was more. This place really is beautiful, stunning design, a very tasteful mix of old and new but also very welcoming, as soon as we arrived we felt at home. Jordi and Eduard were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We checked in very early with no problems or complaint, served tea and coffee (really good coffee!) and were then offered a complimetary upgrade to a medium suite. We weren't sure about the "communal dining" set up at dinner at 1st but we loved it - highlight of our stay - amazing food, great company, good fun and new friends. This is a really romantic place - dress up and leave the kids at home. Perfect for a special occasion - honeymoon or anniversary. Nearest big town is Bergerac about 30 mins drive away - worth a visit (old French "Bastide" town, loads of character, some really nice restuarants and good shopping for local produce and gifts) but you have everything you need here - bring your swimmers and a good book then just chill.

Room Tip: Standard rooms are quite small but perfectly formed, if you can splash out on the XL suite for a spe...

An absolutely wonderful place. Couldn't have had a warmer welcome from Jordi, and he is just brilliant with suggestions of places to go and things to see based on your own personal needs. All his suggestions were great.

The Chateau itself is beautiful, no other word for it.

I can't not mention the food. It was gourmet fine dinning, and at a remarkable price considering the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen. All the skills of a top class chef, and amazing flavours. We ate at the nearby Michelin starred La Tour Des Vent, and the food at Chateau La Thuiliere is better.

I couldn't recommend it enough. We will definitely be looking to return.

Room Tip: Email Jordi and tell him what you want. He told us he likes to have contact with his guests before...

The character, charm and location of this delightful hotel. The genuine warmth of the welcome from the owner, Jordi, and being made to feel we were his personal guests.

We particularly enjoyed our stay as it is obvious this unique hotel, the faultless service and the truly excellent food are driven by the determination, love and passion of Jordi to deliver an unforgettable experience.
