Sophisticated it most certainly isn't but that's not the market it's aimed at. It's good for families, large groups, parties etc. Definitely not romantic. It's a restaurant in a purpose-built shed next to Yahava. It does have quite a good view over a man-made lake/pond although this is a bit spoiled by a large power line.
The service is pretty basic - not particularly friendly and they don't know much more than how to take an order, bring it and clear it. Pretty basic stuff. Everything arrived pretty quickly but the mains arrived before we'd finished the starters - something I hate. And then they never cleared a couple of the starter plates. So, all a bit shoddy.
However, the menu is very big and I'd challenge anyone not to find quite a few things that they'd order. Also, I'd say the prices compare favourably with the winery restaurants up and down the West Swan Road. The quality of food was pretty good on the whole though I'm not sure why the kitchen felt they had to sprinkle salt on my son's steak or my fries. No hot sweets for Sunday lunch was also a bit disappointing - only the contents of the cold cabinet of gateaux, pies and cheesecake.
So, all in all, it's good for a big party - especially with small kids (lots of space to run around outside) - but I think it'll be a while before we return.
