“Lovely food with a breathtaking view!”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

We popped in to The Cliffhanger for lunch on a Sunday. The first thing you notice at this café is the spectacular view, so be sure to take your camera!! We ordered meals from the kids menu as well as the regular lunch menu and all meals we ordered were VERY generous in size and delicious! The prices seemed reasonable to us too. The staff were absolutely wonderful, very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return.

Oh, and the triple chocolate salted peanut meringue tart was to die for!!

“rip off”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

we visited this cafe on Sunday 27/7/14. We had the scones with jam and cream and I must say the scones were fantastic just like my grandmother used to make so my compliments to the cook who baked them. BUT a warning to old people and pensioners whose budget is limited the price on the menu for scones with jam and cream of $7.50 is just for the scones and we were charged a further $4.65 for a pot of hot water and a teabag making a total of $12.15 which in my opinion is a total rip off and extortionate and for the 3 of us it cost us nearly $40 for afternoon tea for three!!!

“Grand view and great food - Surpassed expectations”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

It was early Saturday afternoon (late lunch time)
All we wanted was tea/coffee and something small to eat, but scones and jam and cream is an old favourite, that is rarely done well, but we keep persisting. And it was so worth. Genuinely fresh warm, slightly-crisp-on-outside, good sized scones with a good sized dish of jam and a larger one of cream!! All with a view over the Illawarra escarpment to the Wollongong beaches and the ocean.
Terrific stuff.
We peered over at the good food coming out a large family party at the next table. The meals looked large and beautifully cooked and presented.
And to top it all off, good and friendly service - something that has not always been a strong point at these kinds of restaurants.

“Birthday Celebration”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

We had visited the Cliffhanger twice before and decided to book the venue for my "50th" birthday luncheon. We had a 3 Course menu that I had chosen from previously eating there and it was just delicious , no complaints from any of my frinds & family but plenty of compliments , the staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful and the added views just spectacular.
