This property set in wonderful grounds is great place to visit for singles, couples and families. The main house was rescued by the English Heritage and remains, as stated in the contract, as an empty but beautiful property.
Then you take a beautiful walk through the gardens passing a garden bowls ground and into the 'magic garden' and then onto Belsay Castle.
This small castle (an empty shell) is good to explore and if the weather is good a climb to the topis worth the view.
The walk from the House to the castle is accessible by wheelchair.
There is a cafe on site within the Hall property, but there is also a very good cafe just before the entrance.
I visit this property at least once a month in my own or with family.
