If you have the time I would recommend swinging down to Doolin on your way back or too. Cool little town and this pub has great food. Parking can be a little fun when the big busses are around.

Of course Doolin is known for Irish Music so all the Pub's start playing at around 9pm
Keep this in mind if you are hungry because when the music starts, the food service STOPS
(the beer service does not).

Oconnors seems to have some of the more 'cozy' acoustics than other places
and we loved it.

oh - if you are going to be here in the evening when it is dark -
there are no street lights so make sure you have a small flashlight on you.
We did not, wished we had BUT we were fine anyways.

We ate the Guinness Stew and it was simply amazing.

This was our introduction to authentic Irish food and small village culture. Unlike the rushed atmosphere of US restaurants, the European's get it right. Like in Italy, once you sit down for something to eat or drink, the table is yours. No rush to get you out so another customer can come in. First night went at 7:30PM, ordered drinks and our food from the bar, and after a short wait had the food brought to us. Wife had lamb and mashed veggies while I went for the bacon and cabbage. Both were delicious and went well with Smithwick's Ale. Nursed a couple more drinks waiting for the music to start at 9:30. Five locals gathered in a corner and played a mix or jigs, reels, and ballads dung by an older (80+) gentleman with a hearty voice that required no microphone or amplification. Second night was fish and chips. Fish was very good, the "chips" were a disappointing typical American French Fry rather than rough hand cut "chips" I was expecting. Atmosphere friendly, inviting, relaxing. WARNING If you want to sit for the music arrive at least 1/2 hour before the music is scheduled to start. The place fills up to standing room only. And we were there in the off season.

Loved this place. I recommend the goat cheese app. Delicious!!
Pick a table. Take your table # to the bar. Order at the bar.
"Old school" bar tab. They put your credit card and tickets in a glass behind the bar until you're ready to pay.
Music was wonderful. Very crowded when we went there
