“O'Connor's, Doolin”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

This is the perfect place to stay in Doolin. It is very central(2 mins walk to the village hotel) and yet lovely and quiet for a good night's sleep. Joan is the perfect hostess, knows all the best places to go and provides a wonderful breakfast each morning. The guesthouse is really comfortable and immaculately clean. Rooms are spacious and homely with comfortable beds. Also has good internet connection. Will definitely return.

Joan O'Connor was great as a host. The room was large and comfortable. The bath was huge and modern. Joan made a fire to warm us on a cold day. The house is very close to pubs and restaurants with some within walking distance. If we ever go back to Ireland we would definitely stay at O'Connor's.

Room Tip: All are great...take your pick.

This is the perfect location to go explore the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, and the Burren. Doolin is perfect tto return to in the evening and listen to traditional music. The rooms were clean with nice windows. The bathroom was handicap accessible and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and filling. It was within walking distance to pubs. We would definitely stay there again.

I had a lovely two night stay in Doolin at the beginning of September (2012) and would gladly go back to O'Connor's Guesthouse. My room was spacious and well furnished and very clean. The bathroom was huge and the tub - which I requested - oh-so-deep and relaxing after a long day of 1) traveling and 2) hiking the countryside and Aran Islands. The in-room wifi was a little sketchy but it worked well in the common rooms and breakfast rooms. Jean O'Connor was very helpful about local info and pointed me to Fitzpatrick's pub (within a short walk) for dinner and traditional music. Breakfasts were in a sunny breakfast room and were large and delicious. Since I was in Ireland for two more weeks, before I left Doolin, Jean made some B&B booking suggestions which I truly appreciated and benefited from the rest of my vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a tub on the 1st floor... I believe I was in room 8 and it was very large! I ope...

O'Connor's guesthouse was a great place to stay in Doolin. The rooms were quite spacious, with nice views of the countryside. Joan, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful. We followed her suggestions for pubs/traditional Irish music - she knew which pub was the best for music that night, and she was right on. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

She had two choices for breakfast - full Irish or eggs and smoke salmon. The eggs and smoked salmon were a nice change of pace.

It's a little scary walking on the main road from pub to pub in Doolin, but we did OK - and better than driving.

Very comfortable, clean & spacious rooms! A huge bathroom, which was a plus considering so many bathrooms at B&Bs are tiny. There were three of us and we each had our own bed - which is necessary after a long day of sightseeing & driving around the countryside. Great breakfast the next morning - Joan's scones are delicious!!! Joan had great recommendations for where to hear the best Irish music at that evening. Her B&B is in a fantastic location about a 2 minute walk away from at least 5 pubs/restaurants. About a 5-10 minute drive from the Cliffs of Moher. Would definitely visit again!

When you get to O'Connor's, you know you're away from it all. However, O'Connor's shows that doesn't mean that you have to suffer. The house is very cool inside, and our room was huge with a big bathroom (yay!). Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Our host told us where to hear the best Irish music that night and good recommendations for food. And she was definitely right on both counts. Everything about O'Connor's is comfortable as is the two blocks that comprise the metropolis that is Doolin. Definitely a great stop when you visit the Cliffs of Moher.
