Churchfield: We loved it here...both the B&B and the village of Doolin. Everything was walkable and it is such a quaint and serene place. It was the starting point for our trip to Ireland and our experience at Churchfield was all positive. Maeve was warm and hospitable. Breakfast was wonderful both days we were there and we had the luxury of enjoying it quietly and leisurely. Maeve was always available for questions or recommendations re: ferry schedules, travel directions, etc. One of our favorite ventures was a walk up the adjacent road to the 16th century church ruin and cemetery....right next door are the cows in the pasture. Only in Ireland! We will return to Churchfield and Doolin.

I was recommended this lovely B&B by someone on the tripadvisor forum. I hesitated because I really wanted to be closer to Fisher Street. All we really heard about was O'Connors, and I wanted to be within walking distance. However, we couldn't pass up Maeve's prices. Doolin was our first stop, so we really had no idea where everything was. We took a chance on the rec and chose Churchfield.

Maeve communicated with me via email before our stay - as I needed some help preparing for our wedding ceremony. She was so patient with me and was so helpful!

Maeve greeted us upon our arrival and gave us one of her biggest rooms (since we were getting married, she thought we'd need the extra space!) and it was so comfortable and quiet. Wifi worked great. Maeve always seemed to be around and would pop out to check on us when we were coming in and out. At one point she told us we needed to take a specific tour and called up the ferry company herself to ask if they'd left yet! It was the only time she rushed us out. :) She also took time to go over our map and told us how to get to our next stop. So helpful! Because she kindly suggested switching up our plans a little bit, we got to see more of Ireland without being rushed.

Breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. The juices, cereal, scones & breads were all self serve and her jams were AMAZING. I wanted to lick the bowl. She brought out our chosen breakfast soon after we were greeted in the dining room. The way she has it set up, you're forced to slow down and enjoy breakfast...instead of running out the door with a scone, as I probably would have done. Slowing down is how it should be in Ireland! The morning of our wedding, I fondly remember her saying "good morning me lady!" and giving us fresh warm scones.

We checked out OConnors & Fisher Street first but it was too busy for us, so we weren't thrilled with it. The three other pubs are all an easy walk from Churchfield and we loved all of them. (Fitzgeralds was our favorite meal, McDermott's was our favorite pub.) Super friendly Irish people everywhere we went.

Churchfield & Doolin was such a wonderful experience, I was very sad to leave. I think I could have spent my entire week there! Stay at Churchfield, you won't regret it.

Maeve was a wonderful host! Churchfield was a nice, quiet place to stay. The rooms were so comfortable. We actually got drenched in the rain and Maeve was kind enough to dry our clothes for us. Maeve's breakfast was our very best in Ireland, by far. We hated to leave. No other place measured up to the great standard Maeve set. If you're looking for a place to stay in Doolin this is the best!

Maeve is there to help you and provide the kindest, cleanest, accommodations. So glad we picked this one and it is right across the street from the best pub. Don't bother to walk all the way to O'Connor's it is tourists. Walked all the way back to the one across the street and had great music and food.

Room Tip: Group of six and we were all happy

This B & B in the small village of Doolin is close to several of the top pubs, as well as Doolin cave. The real charm of this establishment, however, is the owner, Maeve. She looks after all of her guests with a personal interest, and seems to know the best directions to any destination. She is as warm and welcoming a woman as the dear Lord ever created, and when you stay at Churchfield, by all means, you HAVE to try her scones!

Doolin was a delight! The Churchfield B & B had lovely rooms, with comfortable beds and a private bathroom. We had a wonderful breakfast, and our proprietress Maeve was a delight! She helped us with information about local sights and shopping. Doolin was a great place to kick off our trip!
