We enjoyed this very modern property in the small town of Doolin, a perfect place to catch a boat to the Aran Islands or explore the Cliffs of Moher. The staff were very friendly, and our room was large and comfortable. At over a mile from the pier, a car would be recommended if you're planning on making one of those early ferries. Lots of fun pubs nearby.

First time ever in Doolin and our expectations were lots of fun, entertainment and memories. Doolin and its four pubs did not disappoint but what made the whole experience gel was this modern hotel with good humored staff, clean well layed out rooms, great food, chat and not a crusty (local vernacular for tree huggers) in sight!
It's a rare treat indeed to walk into their bar at the end of this commercial block of stores and see short ribs on the menu along with a myriad of options to satisfy all palates. Great music, Guinness and the prospect of retiring to a decent bed in a large room added just a whiff of
"I can't believe its true" to the whole experience. Great breakfast the next day and a loaf of homemade brown bread as a parting gift puts this oasis on our map.

After reading about Doolin, its music, and charming pubs, I somehow expected an old classic hotel in a darling little town. The hotel is very modern and seems to own the entire block of modern stores, on a main thoroughfare through the town, such as it is. Once I got over the shock of "mistaken identity" we found the hotel to be pretty nice, tho our room needed several repairs (ripped chair) and broken shade. The bathroom lighting was abyssmal, and because of dormered ceilings the mirror above the sink was 4 ft. tall with no lighting (unusable for make up, hair, etc.)
The room was otherwise large and comfortable, but we were right on the street with morning truck noise. The highlights of the hotel complex were Fitz's Pub with very good food and great entertainment every night, and the included breakfast. We had wonderful breakfasts -- eggs benedict, pancakes, eggs florentine--a large choice off the menu. A real highlight! All in all, a very acceptable hotel, but it seems like they are trying to be upscale, and struggling with that goal, in my opinion

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the street.

We stayed one night at Doolin Hotel and found it to be tops in all aspects, starting from the front desk attendant personally taking us to the room to all the comforts of the hotel and it's surrounding properties. The hotel exceeds many of the standards of 5 star hotels at a fraction of the price.

We stayed here recently for two nights as a centre to explore the Aran Islands and cliffs of Moher. This is a great hotel with very high standard of rooms, excellent restauarant and very helpful staff.
Extremely modern rooms very comfortable beds, spotless modern bathroom. They even offer seaweed bath at 10euros extra.
The breakfast was outstanding - my son was delighted with offer of hot chocolate, pancakes with marshmallows and chocolate chips. I had excellent more standard breakfast.
Gertrude the receptionist found some items we left behind and rang us to tell us- very helpful.
Great location, although rooms a little pricey.

We came to this hotel to experience the Doolin Music Festival, but only wanted a evening ticket, it was quite pricey and the hotel discount was limited considering the inconvenience of an absolute rammed bar everytime you want a night cap (they need a separate place for residents). The hotel is fantastically placed and is a nice balance between modern, Irish and friendly. However, beware its just about in need of a little make over. Like the Clarence the rooms are a bit tired and will need a bit of tlc soon, they are getting away with it now - but soon it will look tatty if they are not careful. The main areas are gorgeous and friendly, breakfast was missing bits since they had run out of tomato's and it seemed rushed and was a bit cold. I still love it here, the reception is always friendly, the cup cakes in your room on arrival is a nice touch especially for greedy guts like me! Its modern and not too big, I'll be back!

Room Tip: Use room service if the bar is busy!

We did not stay at the Hotel Doolin, but instead we made a purchase from a shop located on their property called The Shaggy Sheep. After returning to the USA we discovered that the PJs we purchased at the Shaggy Sheep were defective. We contacted Hotel Doolin about the defect and they immediately reimbursed the cost of the PJs based solely on my word. It is a pleasure to deal with people who are more concerned about doing the right thing than making a profit.
