Doolin was fabulous, looks like a sleepy wee village but it's anything but. Great pubs all with traditional Irish music and all within walking distance. I don't know how they play all night with hardly a break. Popular with old and young, Irish or tourists everyone is welcome. Hotel was great and so was breakfast and all the staff were very helpful. Only problem was the narrow bath already mentioned by someone else and the inability to get wifi either in the rooms or reception. However i think they are getting someone to fix this.

We loved this hotel. Visited with my parents and partner. Free bread, cupcakes in the room and welcoming drinks in the lobby on arrival. Beds were comfortable. Also got free drink voucher to use at hotel restaurant but couldn't use it as we had eaten at the hotel restaurant prior to check-in. Darn. I would go back. Nothing negative to say st all!

Stayed just one night here and it's just really really nice. Great bar and food an really comfortable rooms. Would certainly visit again and highly recommend to others. Great location for Doolin, Cliffs of Moher and The Burren. A nice touch in checkout was a loaf of Doolin Sodabread which is really lovely. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay.

Parents at Doolin National School agreed to rent the function space (a heated marquee at the back of the hotel) for families to celebrate their child(ren)'s Confirmation. We paid 20 euro per head and received a three course meal, water jugs and bread, included children's disco and evening snacks towards the end of the event. The facility was very clean and there were fresh flowers on the table. Decorations were celebratory and rustic - pretty cotton bunting etc. Plenty of space between tables to move around, stage for DJ with a dance floor in front, separate bar area with tall tables to rest your drinks. They also provided space in land they own behind the marquee for parents to install two bouncy castles for the children at the event. I popped in the evening before the event to decorate our tables in a more personal fashion for my child and met the event organiser - Gina Coghlan. She was very friendly and helpful and was efficiently setting up the space. So to give you a flavour of what we experienced...the entrance to the marquee area can be reached from the hotel lobby or the central atrium area of the hotel. You are immediately struck by the pretty outside area which has tables and chairs, planting and is set out in zones with a fire pit, patio and a lovely entrance door to the path to the marquee. It was a tad wobbly walking on the path in high heels, but became easier with practise. Just inside the double door entrance to the marquee is a legend board on the left which identifies clearly your table number(s). The marquee was very clean, pretty and welcoming and opened at 1pm and all guests were asked to be seated by 2pm. Food orders from the adult or children's menus were taken and the food arrived about 20 minutes later. Each course arrived hot and we had no mistakes on who had what. I had a mushroom and chicken vol-au-vent to start, followed by chicken breast stuffed with black pudding on mashed potatoes and with veg and to finish I had the citrus tart. All in all a great meal, all exactly as you'd expect for a volume silver service event and delivered by expert waiters/waitresses. I saw the event organiser overseeing the whole event from when we arrived in at 1pm until we left at about quarter past very late (!!!) We had unexpected hot table treats in the late evening - fried chicken, potato wedges, etc and the childen were absolutely over the moon with the Sweet (Candy) Cart where they were provided with a small bag and could pick and mix from the sweet/candy on the old fashioned cart. The hotel is locally owned and it was the first time many parents had been to an event in the marquee. The organiser had told me that in case of cold weather the floor is heated (magic!) but fortunately we had one of the most gorgeous sunshine-filled days you could hope for. No drama, just excellent from start to finish. I've put the word out to next year's confirmation mothers as this year's mums all agreed that it was the easiest church/family event we've all ever attended and the children were the protagonists as they wanted to spend the time with their friends rather than just small family groups.

So well done Hotel Doolin. I hear they do a wedding most weekends and can imagine that's why they're really efficient, helpful, extremely affordable, welcoming and providing a day that was above and beyond our expectations.

Naturally as it was a local event we did not book rooms at the hotel so I cannot comment on those. The bathroom facilities are very clean and modern, although they could do with much brighter lighting in that area.

We stayed for three nights in the run up to Easter and were really delighted with the hotel. There are about 17 rooms, so it is really a large B&B, but it has a lovely reception, clean comfortable rooms and great staff throughout.
It is connected to Fitzpatrick's pub (who own it), but the way it's built means that there is no noise issue at all.
Fitzpatrick's does nice lunch/dinner, but the real winner for us was the breakfast each day. It was superb. Eggs Benedict, Florentine, Fresh Pastries, Irish Breakfasts etc. All in all just wonderful!
And of course, it is bang in the middle of Doolin, so location wise it is perfect for the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, The Doolin Cave and the Burren

First the staff at the hotel was outstanding - and like most people in Ireland very friendly and accomodating. The hotel itself - was just really average. The common areas - for whatever reason smelled like cats. The rooms were good in size but the shower was so narrow you always had the shower curtain touching you - which is a little icky.

The breakfast ordered was again average - with the fresh fruit at the buffet - all dried fruit.

There is a pub in the hotel which is also wildly average - I would suggest trying other restaurants.

Although short, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel Doolin. The staff was very accommodating and polite. We had three in our family and the room was more than spacious. The accommodation was clean and the beds very comfortable. The hotel is a short walk from most restaurants and shops. Upon arrival we had fresh cupcakes waiting in our room and upon leaving a fresh loaf of brown bread was offered. Breakfast is a full buffet with warm Irish breakfast available. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Hotel Doolin the next time we're visiting the area.
