Owner description: A Stunning Underworld Experience, the Great Stalactite at Doolin Cave is one of Europe's most compelling cave attractions. It is a truly unique and breathtaking experience:- the largest stalactite in the Norhern Hemisphere. Doolin Cave has a Farmland Nature Trail, which is FREE for its visitors. We have unusual breeds of chickens, sheep, cattle and alovely pygmy goat called Minnie, with her little kid called Vincent Van Goat or Vinnie for short. We have also planted lots of native trees and shrubs and wildflower meadows. Our cafe serves lovely fresh salads, soups, breads and homemade cakes We are very proud to announce that we have recently been awarded a Gold Award from Ecotourism Ireland. Hurray!

The Doolin Cave is definitely worth your while visiting. Interesting and breathtaking.......wouldn't want to spoil their presentation by describing it here, but you will be "wowed".

Our first day in Doolin the weather put a damper on our original plans for the day. The hostess of our B&B told us about as well as gave us a brochure of the Doolin Cave. We decided to have a look. The location was easy to find and the tour guides and other employees were very kind. The guides were very informative as well. They were especially concerned with our safety at all times and provided us with hard hats as well as pointed out slick spots on the walk, etc. The walk down into the cave was over 100 steps which was not an issue going down but coming back up it could be difficult for some people. They at least had lil stools placed on each floor for those that needed to take a breather on their way back up out of the cave. The inside of the cave was fantastic. The tour guide was very well educated about the history of the cave, etc. About the only real complaint would be the price was a lil steep for this quick 1-hour tour. Other than that it's a good lil tour. I would recommend it to others visiting the Doolin area.

Doolin cave is a wonder.. i never knew something so spectacular was so close to where i like to holiday! The tour guides are well informed and did a great job, the stairs were tough on the way back up though! My only complaint was the prices. Half the price would have still been enough for the hour guide we were given.

We are very pleased with all reviews but would like to address the question of price which was commented on. Doolin Cave is a very unique visitor attraction containing the Great Stalactite, one of the largest stalactites in any showcave in the world. The cave environment is very fragile and we have it monitored constantly to ensure that visitor numbers are not impacting negativerly on the stalactite. Our numbers are limited by the law in order to protect this unique phenomonen. So we have to position ourselves at the higher end of the 'attraction scale' in order to continue to stay in business. For expample the Cliffs of Moher gets 750,0000 visitors annually and we are limited to 55,000!
But we feel that we are offering our visitors an exclusive experience with small tours which allow them to fully experience the magic of this wonder of nature. Most people who visit the cave are find it completely breathtaking and it's not just the stairs that takes their breath away!

2 weeks in county clare with lots to do but Doolin Cave is in our top 3. Amazing tour, great tour guides and at a reasonable price. Thank you Paddy for making us feel so welcome.

Commercial caving is not something we typically go in for as my husband is an NSS caver but...we wanted to see how Ireland treats its caves. While the price for admission is steep we could tell why. A lot of effort went into trying to preserve this amazing cave. The stalactite was breathtaking and worth the effort to get to it. Our guide, Brian, was informative and friendly and really spent time answering questions.

Strongly recommend this attraction to anyone who has interest or curiosity about caves in Ireland. There are lots of steps, stoop walking, and water so dress comfortably in layers. Recommend bringing your own headlamp to check out all the cave features if you have one although it is not necessary.
