This wonderful B&B, in a lush setting near the Cliffs of Moher, was the best B&B I stayed in during my recent trip to Ireland. Frank & Marian were the perfect host & hostess; friendly, helpful and so hospitable. The room was modern, clean and very comfortable. Loved the speciality soap they supplied in the spotlessly clean bathroom. The gourmet breakfast was absolutely delicious. Try the stuffed pancake - it's amazing. Though I didn't have the opportunity to eat dinner in their restaurant, the aroma coming from their kitchen was heavenly. Check out the artwork in the foyer and dining room - had to buy a print so I would have a keepsake of Doolin to bring home to America. Location is perfect - you can park your car and walk down the hill to a couple of pubs that have live music in the evening and delicious pub food.

This was our favorite place to stay on our first Ireland trip a couple of weeks ago. The rooms were basic but very comfortable, clean and modern, with nice bedding & bathroom. This was the most affordable place we stayed, at 35 euro pppn in the fall. Also, we had a wonderful view of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher in the distance from our window.

Marian was an absolutely wonderful hostess, and Frank's food was incredible. The breakfasts were definitely something special, with choice of full Irish breakfast, local smoked salmon or cheese plate, and the best pancakes & fruit you'll ever eat. We ate dinner there one night for my b-day, and it was incredible...a 3-course early bird special that was well worth the money. If you are going to County Clare, you should definitely stay at the Roadford House!!!

We arrived at Shannon Airport after an all night flight, exhausted and in need of a few hours sleep. When we arrived at Roadford House, Marian and Frank Sheedy greeted us with genuine warmth and a sincere welcome. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and got a few hours sleep per Marian's suggestion. Our room was clean and neat with a fabulous view of the surrounding countryside and Cliffs of Moher in the distance.. The bed was extremely comfortable. We felt like we were at home. All possible amenities were provided including a great shower.

Marian's suggestions and patience in reviewing our travel itenary were invaluable. Roadford House was also a central location enabling us to see the Cliffs of Moher, the Burrens, Ennis and many beautiful small towns in the local countryside. Roadford House is located in the town of Doolin which is famous for its traditional Irish music.

Lastly, we are indebted to another member of the family, "Beans", an irish setter/golden retriever who also made us feel very welcome as he would greet us coming and going.

All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning in the future. We would not hesitate to recommend a stay at the Roadford House for those travelling to the that part of Ireland.

After reading the review we were looking forward to the Roadford House. To me it seemed very average. Marian was very pleasant and breakfast was very good. But the rooms were average and you had to walk outside to get to the dining room. Worse there was no library, lobby or reading room. So if you wanted to take a break from the rain the only place to read was on a stiff chair in your room.

We did not have dinner there (as we were not asked if we wanted reservations) so maybe we are being unfair.
The location was nice and the view form the room was very attractive. The price was very fair.

Marian is incredibly fun and a gracious hostess. The location is perfect-off the main road, close to the pubs. There are horses in the field across the street that we enjoyed watching play. Do have dinner at the restaurant. It is wonderful.

My family stayed at Roadford House this August and we give it top notch ratings. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and the setting is lovely--quiet and charming. And don't miss dining at Roadford House. The restaurant, attached to the B&B, is excellent. We had dinner there and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. And breakfast, which is part of the price for the room, was also delicious. The proprietor, Marian Sheedy, is extremely helpful with advice and making reservations. And her chef husband does a stand out job. We went to Doolin because of its location near the Cliff of Moher and the Aran Islands and because Doolin is considered the unofficial traditional music capital of Ireland. So this should be a must stop for a visitor the West of Ireland.

We spent 2 nights at the Roadford House in Doolin. While our room lacked much in the way of character (it felt very much like a sterile hotel room) it was very clean and comfortable.

What the room lacked in aesthetics, however, was more than made up for by the hospitality of Marian and the food prepared by her husband Frank, an award-winning gourmet chef.

The breakfast was impeccable—fresh, local products prepared with care and precision. We also booked dinner there one evening and we were thrilled we did—absolutely amazing cuisine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this B&B to anyone.
