“Beautiful place with a fantastic restaurant”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for two nights. Marian our host was really welcoming. We had dinner the first night in the restaurant which was top class. Breakfast both mornings was amazing. Marian was kind enough to book our ferry for us to Aran Islands. The place is very close to two great pubs that have very good traditional irish music every night. Highly recommend this place and definitely book into the restaurant.

I am thanking our lucky stars and the guardian angels that brought us to The Roadford House in Doolin, Co. Clare. We planned a long weekend that turned in to a week and managed to find a place that had that many days free~ The Roadford House. The accomodations were clean, modern and very comfortable. Our breakfasts were gourmet treats every day with a lovely menu from which to choose and standbys like yogurt, cereals, lemon stewed prunes, ginger stewed rhubarb, home made scones and excellent brown bread, juices, coffee, and tea....a breakfast to look forward to!

Set on a side street with a view of the Cliffs of Moher from the front windows, The Roadford House also features a first class dinner restaurant where Chef/owner Frank Sheedy creates beautiful meals artfully presented, and outrageously delicious. From starter to dessert, the meals we ate there were just stellar. With lovely Marion Sheedy in the front of the house the Roadford House became our home, and we couldn't have felt more welcome. Marion greeted us with a smile every morning and the offer to help us make the most of every day. She was as gracious a host as we could ever ask for and our enjoyment of Doolin was truly enhanced with her assistance.

Room Tip: The apartment is perfect for a small family or 2 couples and the front rooms have a view of the Clif...

Sometimes misfortune gives rise to great discoveries. A re-scheduled trip meant we couldn't stay where we originally booked in Doolin, and the Roadford House was the outcome. First of all, this is a restaurant with accommodation, and not accommodation that does food. The dinner we had in the restaurant was outstanding - and we eat out a lot. Value for money, flavours and style were all top of their class. The proprietors, Marian and Frank, are real "people people". He is a top chef and her front of house manner is friendly and warm. The accommodation is clean, modern and comfortable. Overall package: great value for money and very high quality. And as a PS, the breakfast is not to be sniffed at either! Try the gourmet breakfast item on the menu and you'll be bowled over by the imagination and taste.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a view of the sea (in the distance). All rooms are quiet and comfortable.

When planning your trip to Doolin, look no further for your accommodation and dining! You have found your little corner of paradise in this quiet country setting, exceptionally run by Marian and Frank - two of the most warm and gracious people who truly went out of their way to ensure that we had a most enjoyable experience - all attention is spent on warm hospitality and detail! We enjoyed a quiet, clean, bright, cheerful, attractive, and comfortable accommodation, complete with all the amenities, and a very comfy bed to plop into when the day was through. The big plus here is that, unlike other B&Bs, you can go to breakfast (within their hours) at your leisure without giving your menu choices and exact time of dining the evening before. The restaurant is just lovely and charming, while the extensive breakfast choices were exceptional, and were presented so - and one of my priorities is great coffee - I was NOT disappointed! The evening dining experience is not to be missed either, with the over-the-top delicious choices of dinner and dessert items presented elegantly, while the family serves with warmth and friendliness. Marian and Frank and family made us feel truly at home! In addition, Marian was a wealth of information when it came to ideas about touring the immediate area - from The Burren, to the Cliffs of Moher, to the Aran Islands, to the local pubs with their nightly music just a quick stroll away - every question we asked, and even some we didn't, were happily and enthusiastically answered - including the best route back to Dublin for our trip home. We look forward to returning to this little green corner of the world, and there will be absolutely no reason to make any other call for reservations! We highly recommend this wonderful and joyful experience to anyone heading for Doolin!

This excellent little B & B has everything you could possibly want in accommodations. Marian and Frank are wonderful people and strive to endear themselves to each and every guest.
The restaurant is separate and you can eat there without being a guest, which makes a wonderful choice if you do not wish to dine in the pubs. Parking is grand and the food is just amazing. This B & B is comparable in price to others nearby, but so much nicer! Our room was nicely decorated and cleaned each and every day and we walked a short distance of about 5 minutes to McGann's or McDermott's pub for music every night. Cheers to you Marian and Frank! You are are the best!!!

The little town of Doolin is blessed to have this well-run B&B. Clean and comfortable rooms in a quiet neighborhood with just a quick 5 minute stroll to a few local pubs that offer music nightly. While the rooms and hospitality are great, the food takes center stage. Breakfast choices range from typical full Irish breakfasts to gourmet dishes. I wish I could go back tomorrow morning for Frank's unbelievable cooking! One of my favorite meals that I had while visiting Ireland was definitely at Roadford House! Stay at Roadford House in the sweet town of Doolin, and you WON'T be disappointed.

My first review, but I'm a road warrior that does more than 100,000/year on a plane over the last 15 years. My wife and I spend two fantastic nights at the Roadford House, including one of the best dinners we had in Ireland.

Thanks to Marian the owner who made the experience even better...
And walk to McGann's to listen to Kevin play some incredible Irish music...

Nothing but the highest praise,
Thanks again Marian
