“Best B&B I have ever stayed in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

We arrived at Emohruo B&B on Friday May 17th and stayed until Sunday May 19th. Margaret was a wonderful hostess. She greeted us with a hug, fresh scones and tea. She was more than helpful with places to visit, places to eat, scenic drives etc. On Saturday night we stayed in and there were two lovely women from Texas also staying there. We all sat around with Margaret and laughed and talked until midnight. It was like going to your favorite Aunts for a visit with long lost cousins. I will be visiting Ireland again next year and will stay more than two days at this B&B. I would highly recommend staying here.

My wife and four adult children recently had the pleasure of staying at the Emohruo B&B for two evenings. Upon arrival our host Margaret provided us with tea, cookies and a hot whiskey for myself. The updated rooms were spacious and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the water presure of the shower. A filling cooked to order breakfast awaited us each morning. Margaret went out of her way to coordinate a trip to the Aran Islands and offered helpful advice for visiting the local attractions. Margaret is a lovely lady and wonderful host who made us feel at home and we would highly recommend the Emohruo B&B.

My Partner and I were travelling to Doolin to enjoy the music and Cliffs of Moher but this visit was enriched because of Margaret and her hospitality. I was in Doolin over 20 years ago, as a young backpacker and stayed in town but for this trip we wanted somewhere quiet and on the cliffs. The farmhouse is one of the original B&B's in Doolin and experience counts! Margaret is warm and inviting without being intrusive, she really gave us some good advice and made us feel right at home. The bed was extremely comfortable, very spacious bathroom and a gorgeous view of the farms around us. The living room was warm and it was lovely to sit with Margaret in front of the fire before heading out on the town to listen to some great music. Margaret contacted a local to give us a lift and he was there to pick us up at the end of the night!! Do yourself a favour and stay here.

We really enjoyed meeting Margaret. She was a delightful hostess and provided a wonderful breakfast. We were relegated to the room with single beds (presumably b/c others beat us to the double rooms), which would have been fine if they weren't so uncomfortable. The location is good, but not close enough to walk to much, so you'll need to plan on driving to and fro unless you're a "real walker".

Great location, simple, clean and include a home cooked breakfast. The service was excellent. The owners were very helpful in provding us information on touring the local area and when to visit the the Cliffs. We arrived late and alomost missed dinner, the owner called ahead to one of the restaraunts and coordinated a late dinner for us, which was excellent. The pubs in Doolin are small, friendly, have great beer and live music...perfect. We will definately return.

Room Tip: The front room is the largest of the four. All views are average.

We stayed here for two nights while in Doolin (my favorite part of our Ireland trip). Margaret was an absolutely amazing host. Before we made it into town she told us what bus stop to get of at and directed us toward an amazing pub called O'Connors (delicious food! warm & cozy atmosphere!). She said she'd pick us up from O'Connors after we ate.

We got in later than expected and when we called her to let her know she told us not to worry. She encouraged us to stay at the pub so that we could catch the live music and gave us a number for a cab.

By the time we got to Emohruo, it was probably about 10 pm. Margaret was there to greet us and show us to our room. I have to say that out of all the places we stayed in Ireland, this room was by far the best. It seemed like everything was new. It was big, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and had a BIG shower (something of a luxury as most showers in Ireland are rather small).

The breakfast was delicious (especially her fresh homemade scones, yum!). We were car-less but Margaret was so sweet and offered to drive us to the Cliffs of Moher as well as back to town when we were ready to leave.

One day we will go back to beautiful Doolin, and when we do we will definitely stay with Margaret at Emohruo.
