We had a wonderful visit in Doolin. Perfect location, rooms, breakfast and delightful family. Can not imagine a better b&B in the area.

Seaview is nestled in a hill overlooking Doolin and the ocean. We had a great time for our first visit to Ireland. Darra was so helpful and friendly, it felt like we'd known her for years. She prepared an excellent Irish breakfast. We would definitely go back and definitely refer people to her B & B.

We stayed at Sea View House for three nights in late April. We LOVED Doolin and the surrounding area! So much to see and do! Sea View House was the first place we stayed in Ireland on our first over-seas trip so we didn't have anything to compare to. We were checked in by a man who wasn't exactly friendly. Darra, the hostess, was very friendly when we met her the next day at breakfast. Over the course of our stay, I had the French Toast, Trad. Irish Breakfast and Oatmeal. All were delicious! Darra's dining room is beautiful and we met interesting people each day to visit with over breakfast. Our room was neat as a pin and comfortable. We had a great view of Doolin from our bedroom window. Sea View offers a nice living room for guests to hang out in. We used it every night as we blogged and called home to our kids. The internet connection seemed weak and we did have some frustration with that. The living room and deck have a nice view of Doolin and the ocean. We were traveling with parents in their 70's and they did struggle somewhat with the steep stairs leading up to the front door. This is something to be aware of if mobility is an issue for you. While staying at Sea View House we visited Doolin Pier, Doolin Pitch and Put, Cliffs of Moher and The Burren Perfumery. On the one day that threatened rain, Darra recommended Bunratty Castle which was a real treat. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Sea View House.

The Sea View House was everything we had hoped . . . and more. Darra and Niles were so accommodating. I took my mother and her identical twin on their first overseas trip. They felt right at home. Darra showed them how to make Irish porridge and baked them extra bread after they complimented her. Each morning we had a hearty and delicious breakfast. We met great people. Darra gave us excellent recommendations for day trips. She called and checked on ferry trips and even made reservations for us at a local restaurant. She could not have been more helpful or more sincere. It was the perfect spot for new travelers and seasoned veterans. The sights were breathtaking. The shops were charming. Doolin has small town appeal with access to other attractions. We really got a taste of what Irish life is really like with locals and travelers all rubbing elbows. Each night we met new people. Some from up the road, others from across the globe. Doolin is a great town. Sea View House is an amazing place to "live" while you travel. We could never thank Darra and Niles enough. We'll be back!

My wife and I went right from Shannon Airport to Doolin for our first night in Ireland. We must have been early because no one was to be found to check us in. No problem! The area was so beautiful, and so close to the hamlet Fisherstreet that we had no difficulty wandering the area and taking it all in. When we did meet up with the owner, Dara, she was as friendly as could be. Sea View House is up on a (rather steep) hill, which allows for picture perfect views of the village and the distant ocean. Fisherstreet (one of the three hamlets that make up Doolin) and the famous O'Connor's Pub is literally minutes away on foot. Great trad at O'Connors! The Burren and The Cliffs of Moher are a short drive away. You can save on the exorbitant parking fee at the cliffs (8 euro) by hiking, but that's rather long. Our room was small but comfortable. Who needs a big room anyway when all of Ireland becons? Nice bed too. The traditional Irish breakfast was typical of other places we stayed at: good, but nothing outstanding. We would definitely stay here again!

During our weeks stay in Ireland we stayed in many B&B's. Sea View House had the best panoramic view and a good central location to visit Doolin, the cliffs of Moher and the Burren. The first impression was "great location!". The welcome by the male owner was okay, not specifically friendly nor unfriendly. The first impression of this B&B was good, friendly hallway and a cosy guest living room with a big verandah to enjoy the sunsets on a warm summer day. The room we were given was up the stairs in the left back corner. The size was good, the decoration friendly, the bathroom OK. We had a view on the street heading North. Overall the room was good but the double bed that we slept in was the smallest that we encountered during our stay in Ireland. But we managed. We really liked the wireless internet facility (this was our main reason for choosing this B&B). The breakfast room is the most impressive and the taste of the French toast with honey, cinnamon and maple sirup that I choose for breakfast stayed with me until lunch. We were offered an extra service by the hostess that saved us time: that's a big plus. Having seen the rooms and services of other B&B's in Ireland I can say that this B&B could improve on the size of the beds, but then I don't know how the other beds in this house are.

Dear Celtic Inspiration,

Thank you for your kind review of our home. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and the free Wi Fi we offer.

With regards to bed sizes, all our double rooms have standard/ normal sized double beds.

I do not know if you booked a twin room or a double room, however the room you stayed in is our twin room and has two single beds, one slightly wider than the other.

Best regards,

Darra Hughes

Sea View House is ideally situated with a view of the ocean as well as Doolin and within walking distance of Fisherstreet with it's appealing attractions.
The best thing about Sea View House was that it is absolutely tops in terms of aesthetics and cleanliness. The breakfasts were great and the hospitality of Darra, Niall and family are unexcelled. We give Sea View House our unqualified salute and highest praise. Jim and Gail, Astoria, Oregon
