“Lovely B&B close to the Cliffs of Moher”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

My husband and I stayed at Cullinan's for one night after walking the Cliffs of Moher and loved our stay.
The guesthouse is close to pubs, shops and restaurants, we would suggest dining at Cullinans's as the food there is superb but you must book well in advance.
It is a longer walk to the main village and port to catch a boat to see the cliffs.
Carol was also very friendly and helpful and gave us advice on the best route to get to Galway..
We had a lovely double room at the back of the property as requested which backed onto the stream and was away from the main road.so was very quiet.
The room was a good size, clean and with a comfortable double bed. It had 2 large windows with views of the stream and the surrounding hills.
The bathroom was small but clean and the shower had good water pressure.
Breakfast was delicious a choice of full cooked breakfast from the menu and the usual fruit, cereal etc.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely guesthouse and Doolin itself and would highly recommend a stay here as a base to view the Cliffs of Moher.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the property are quieter as away from the road..

We stayed at Cullinan's Guesthouse after seeing the Cliffs of Moher. This B&B is the best. The back patio is beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. The decoration is very elegant and Carol is a great host. Can't wait to stay again.

Carol is a gracious hostess and James is a wonderful cook. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner when you reserve your room - it will be one of the best you've had in Ireland! The breakfast and coffee were excellent too. Cullinan"s is in a sleepy little town on a back road near the Cliffs of Moher. If the weather is calm, this is where you hire a boat to see the cliffs from the sea.

We found this B&B in my Lonely Planet guidebook when we decided to stay in Doolin for the night. We arrived in the evening after a long drive in the car and were lucky to get the last room available right off the sitting room. We found it to be very nice. The room was large with a nice bathroom and the beds warm and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. They had a wonderful stewed rhubarb to eat with yogurt. The owners were very kind and are well known musicians in the area. In fact, the B&B is in a prime spot since several pubs with trad sessions are either across the street or a short walk away. All in all a charming spot.

Cullinan's Guesthouse was our first evening stay in Ireland for our Honeymoon. Our flight got in at 6am that day and we immediately went to the Cliffs of Moher and spent a good part of the day enjoying the Cliffs. When we arrived at Cullinan's, we were slightly early for check-in but Carol welcomed us in and our room was already prepared! Carol led us to our room which was in the second building and downstairs to the back. We had a lovely view of the river behind the building and the rest of the view was FANTASTIC as well! A true taste of Ireland! Our bed was very comfortable and we got a GREAT night's sleep! And breakfast in the morning (my husband ordered the Full Irish and I ordered the Eggs Benedict) was DELICIOUS!! Cullinan's is also right in town, so the pub we went to for food and Guinness after we checked in was directly across the street! Wonderfully convenient! Overall, a marvelous choice of Bed and Breakfast and I would highly recommend it to others. We would definitely stay there again if we make it back to Ireland! Thank you Cullinan's for your hospitality and providing a great start to our Honeymoon!!!

Room Tip: Our room was in the second building, downstairs and in the back. GREAT view of the river and land...

It is a very comfortable and well located guesthouse. Just across from both a Tourist Information office and a local pub. Plus you can walk to the ferry dock or along scenic back roads. The bus from Galway will drop you off at the front door.
As for the raved about restaurant, we found the ambiance, portions and attitude ungenerous (unlike the heartiness of the food in the pub across the way).
For instance, two poached eggs at breakfast came squashed on ONE small piece of bread! And that sparse, minimalist timidity permeated the entire dining experience.

If your travels take you to the County Clare shores and you are anywhere near the tiny village of Doolin, this is the place! Wonderfully located and easy to find, this quaint guesthouse has very reasonable, comfortable, and service-packed accommodations to share. My wife and I spent 2 nights there and were impressed on all accounts. The owners, James and Carol Cullinan, are REAL folks who will welcome you and tend to your every need. And food? Wow! James is the chef and does he prepare a meal. All fresh, beautifully presented, and a real value besides. As I recall, they only seat about 24 guests, so make a reservation, sit back, and enjoy. You won't believe the 5-star dining in this little coastal village at Cullinan's.

Room Tip: All rooms are a bit tight, but the comfort overcomes the lack of space. Get a room overlooking the r...
