“couldnt stay, would nt stay!!!! GO ELSE WHERE”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

Could'nt, would'nt stay here..... what he did was wrong, the way he dealt with it was even worse!!!!visiting the area with some friends, a very helpful young girl working at the cliffs of mohar information center, booked a room for us with Frank around 4 pm, ( no credit card, was asked for or given, no mention of a curfew) Happy to have accom booked we went off touring. We arived at 20.15,( early for us !!) met by the son, left waiting 15 minutes as he went to find Frank!!! Who told us that we were late!!! he had a business to run and couldnt keep the room for us and that he was full!!! Told him re booking and he simply said " first come first served" . Frank was most unhelpful when we tried to explain that there was a commitment to keep a room via the earlier phone call,we were not made aware of a curfew or check in deadline and what he was doing was very wrong and in very poor taste!!! When pressed as to when the last room was booked Frank became flustered, rude, verbally aggresive towards us and ushered us out!!! Basically, he just took in the first people that came regardless of us ringing ahead and booking, yes first come first served-- by Franks rules!!! so if youve made a reservation here, think twice cause your room may be gone before you even get there. so book else where, because he certainly wont care less!!! Unsurprisingly in our last minute search for a b n b around Doolin, anyone we spoke to and belive you me, im telling everyone!!! no one in the area seemed surprised by Franks behaviour, so im very surprised by some of the reviews!!! however the one re the mal function toilet seems realistic!!!( fortunately we got a room at hardour view , a little out of Doolin but was clean, and v well run by Cathy).
So bring your custom else where!!!!

Room Tip: wouldnt book here, full stop, travell around alot, never experienced this before!!!

Frank is an absolute joy and fantastic host. He helped carry our bags to our room and recommended a couple pubs for us to try. We had spent the day at the Cliffs of Moher. At breakfast, which was my first experience of a full Irish breakfast, which I discovered is way too much food for me, my mother decided to take over the conversation I was having with Frank and let him know I was single....how embarrassing, thx Mom.

Seriously, I hope to stay here again when I come back to look at houses in the Doolin area. Yes, Frank, my mother wanted me to let you know I'm still single.

We traveled as a family and had 18 adults in Frank's place here in Doolin. Feeding breakfast to all those folks simultaneously was a challenge that Frank was able to accommodate two morning's in a row. The location is the best in town and Frank is a real nice gentleman. We had stayed at Doonmacfelim back in 2006 and returned - we shall do the same the next time we visit Doolin!!

Our group filled the house and Frank did a great job of getting us settled in quickly and on our way into Doolin. Room was comfortable, bath a little small but functional. Breakfast was superb..Frank does it all. Doonmacfellin is close to town, a quick walk to O'Connor's pub and shops. Its also close enough to walk to the pier for the boats out to the Aran Islands. I would recommend this place for groups and families, we enjoyed our stay and getting to know the owner Frank.

Disappointing stay because of an unresolved problem with a malfunctioning toilet.
Reported the problem shortly after we arrived in the afternoon. The owner's son, who was hosting that day, looked at the toilet more than once at my insistence but only in late afternnon suggested he would call his father. My comments about moving to another room were evaded. We were told Frank would be by that evening to look at the toilet. He never came. The next morning Frank was vague and dismissive about the issue. A fully functioning toilet should be a basic expectation when paying for an ensuite room. The lack of concern on the part of the owners was extremely frustrating and very unexpected. Would not stay there again.

Warm, clean , comfotable! Frank is always a pleasent host. This is a great place to stay while visiting the beautiful town of Doolin as it is very conviently located for the cliffs, shopping, and pubs (walking distance to Gus O'Connors), Choice of breakfast is a nice touch.

Nice B&B, clean, comfortable rooms. Superb location for walking to the pubs and the parade. Doolin is a great little village. I've stayed here before and will again. Our host Frank is always entertaining!
