“Nice end to our vacation”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Arrived in Doolin without reservations and went to the Half-Door. It had been recommended in a travel book we were using. We had to call from a phone in the front vestibule and waited a few minutes for Ann to come and show us a few rooms. We wanted to stay two nights so we chose the 2nd floor room with a queen and twin bed. The B&B decor is more Adirondack Mountains (New York State) than an Irish B&B. More wood paneling and sloped roof. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Our room was pleasant and had good ventilation-we were there on a warm day. The shower has water at only one temperature-it's fine, but you cannot adjust to suite your needs. Ann was pleasant, but business-like. Her husband was a little friendlier. The breakfasts were excellent, and the room very comfortable. The homeowners do not live in the house, but are just across the field. We enjoyed our stay, but if you are looking for a quaint Irish B&B with resident owners you might want to look elsewhere. We would however recommend Half Door B&B. Took us just under an hour to get to Shannon airport with a stop for diesel.

Spent two nights at the Half Door B&B in April. The location is great, the house is spotless, and the food was delicious. Luckily we took Connor's advice on seeing the Cliffs when we arrived that afternoon rather than waiting until the next day. We saved money and avoided disappointment since it was cloudy and/or raining the on and off the next two days. Being able to walk right across the street to McDermotts was a big plus.

Nice place to stay - conveniently close to pubs for supper and Cliffs of Moher. Owners were friendly and professional and Connor particularly helpful with knowledge re local area.
The rooms were basic and comfortable but lacked a bit of personal touch.

The breakfast was hearty and enough to sustain us through the day. One thing we did not like no tea and coffee available in the room for glasses for water at night.

The B&B is squashed in between larger properties which has some rubble that takes away from the visual experience when arriving at the B&B.

Very cute place to stay. Convenient location near the Cliff's of Moher, the Aran Islands, and the Burren. Anne and Connor were very nice and gave us suggestions on how to save money on the Cliffs and also on a ferrry to the Aran island. Great breakfast as well and clean! I would definitely stay here again.

This place had beautiful lodging, real pretty woodwork. Staff was super friendly and made an excellent breakfast. If I ever make it back to Doolin, I am staying here again.

We had a group of six staying at the Half Door for two nights. The place was immaculate and breakfast was outstanding. It is well located with two pubs within walking distance. It's a nice location for Lahinch golf course (10 minute drive), the Cliffs of Moher (five minute drive) and Ailwee Cave and The Burren. Sure, there are other B&Bs that are also in the same general area, but what sets this apart is Anne's unbelievably good breakfast, Connor's friendliness and the B&B's cleanliness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, and I look forward to our return to Half Door.
