“Do not miss the opportunity to dine here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2010

Unfortunately, we only had one night in Doolin, Fortunately, we were told to dine at Roadford House. This was one of the two best dining out experiences we had in our 11 days in Ireland. Do not miss the rack of lamb!

“Roadford House Restaurant, Doolin, County Clare”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2010

After looking for a nice restaurant in a small village of pubs and traditional irish music, we were told of Roadford House. We checked out the menu earlier on in the day and decided to book. We arrived to a small but busy dining room with a very welcoming hostess named Marian, owner and wife of the chef, Frankie. She made us feel very welcome and added some irish humour in showing us our table. We instantly knew we had made the right choice having checked out four different restaurants that day. Starters of crab stack and pork belly enticed us for the main courses of scallops and duck, the duck chosen after Marian advised that it was the chef's signature dish. We were in awe of the food, the service and the sheer overall dining experience, which we finished with two delicious irish coffees and we were one of the last tables to leave as we chatted to Marian about her business, her life and how much we enjoyed the food, the ambience and her hospitality. If ever in Doolin, the gateway to the Cliffs of Moher, this restaurant is a must for the best food and hospitality which will add to your time in Doolin.

“Wish we'd eaten here more than once!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2010

Simply one of the finest meals I have ever had (I eat well adn it shows), meticulously prepared from top shelf ingredeints. We were 3 diners and the lamb, beef and duck were ALL fabulous. The big surprise was the selection of root vegetables - I LOVED THEM and I have never enjoyed either parsnips or turnips prior to this. The wine list is small BUT VERY NICE and the Sheedys were great hosts and chef....

I've already reprised the lemon curd and meringue dessert here at home (inventive and easy!). Not as tasty but it brings back terrific memories. If you want to splurge a tiny but, EAT AT THE ROADFORD HOUSE!

“Just had a weekend trip to Doolin and...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2010

Just had a weekend trip to Doolin and stayed at Roadford house after having it recommended by a friend. What a fabulous recommendation! The accommodation was simple but very clean. The true treasure is the exceptional service and fantastic food. Ate there both nights--the salad and the goat cheese and portobella mushroom sandwich were excellent starters. The cod was exceptional, but the pork, lamb and sirloin steak were great, too! And very happy with the wine list. Marian is an excellent host. This was my fourth trip to Doolin--I will go back and will definitely return to Roadford House!
