We had a very nice anniversary lunch at the Bull on the bank holiday Monday in August. The pub was very busy, but the service was good, food well presented and served promptly, and the smoked fish sharing platter was just divine. My steak was a little tough, but this was due to the cut of meat rather than the quality of the cooking. Eating in the bar area can be a little noisy, but there is a restaurant section if you prefer a quieter dining experience. The fact that the food is above average pub food is reflected in the price, but for families the pizza option would be a good and economical choice, and they did look delicious.
