Having lived in the Middle East for many years, we can safely say that the dishes at Sahara are truly authentic and are of the highest quality. Additionally, the range of dishes on the menu comprise several we never encountered on our travels.

Service is friendly and unobtrusive. The restaurant gets busy in the evenings so booking is essential.

Prices are comparable with a similar establishment in Altrincham.

Highly recommend.

We ate at Sahara on an impromptu evening out and were seated at a table near the stairs. Some of the dishes were excellent, and our meal was very reasonably priced - including a bottle of pleasant Lebanese wine and three courses, a meal for two came in under £65.

The service was good on the whole, and the atmosphere busy - I would not choose this restaurant for a romantic night out or a business meeting as the tables are closely spaced and there is little privacy. The only thing I really didn't like was the flashing Christmas lights, but they will be gone in a week or two!

Sahara is reached by a narrow flight of stairs - it is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

Visited Sahara for the first time in November 2013. Really enjoyed the quality of the food and atmosphere. Staff were delightful and attentive. Prices also very reasonable and value for money experience. We have booked to go again in 2 weeks time as we enjoyed the evening so much.

Located directly across from the station on Ashley Road, the Sahara could be easily overlooked as it has no restaurant frontage at street level apart from a glass door through which you enter before rising to the first floor restaurant. Additional seating on the second floor.

Simply but tastefully decorated with Arabic lanterns hung from the ceiling and Islamic-inspired discreet lighting on the walls. Tables are a good size and spaced far enough apart that you don't feel that you're knocking elbows with your neighbours.

Superb choice of hot and cold starters, and mains, all elegantly presented. Lunchtime platters comprising meat/ chicken plus couple of mezze sides on same plate are excellent value. Comprehensive main menu with all your Lebanese staples with additional items we had not eaten before.

Highly recommend to those who never tire of levantine delights or to those who have yet to savour this hidden cuisine.
