I strongly recommend that lodge!! It is like a dream come true. Very clean, very organized, great tours and delicious food!! It is very relaxing!! All receptionists and tour guides speak english so that everyone can understand. Every day there are tours that include cruise with liltle boats. There are also activities like bow and arrow practice, feeding dolphins, jungle walkthrough, pyranchas fishing, etc. It is very safe for children. The pool is also clean.

Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge

This unique jungle lodge is located in the heart if the Amazon Forest , the Anavilhanas National Park and it is about 2.5 hours drive from the airport. There is a 10 minutes' ride on a dirt road before you reach the lodge

There is a reception/bar/library/game room area by the restaurant. This is also serve as the meeting area for guides and guest before heading for the activity of the day. The staff are super friendly and helpful and almost all of then speak English.

The restaurant is on a higher floor where you have a good view of the jungle. The package is all inclusive except alcoholic drinks. The food were so good and their fresh fruit juice were super!

We were assigned to cottage 7, represented by a wooden animal - Tucan, which is also the identifier for our dinner table. This is a cute idea!

The room was big and clean. What I really live was the hammock on our balcony overlooking to the woods! There was a mosquito net covers the balcony so we were protected from the Mosquitos!

There are free wifi but only at the reception area, the signal was not really strong. We'll we understand that because we were in the heart of the jungle. We were lucky to even have some signal!

The bathroom was clean with a huge walk in shower are. The water pressure was strong too

Just as we were readied to check out, a staff knocked on our door wanting to help us with the bags! Perfect timing with helpful staff!!

If anyone wants to visit Amazon, this is the lodge!

I can't praise this place highly enough, we loved every minute. We did the 5 night 6 days package and would have loved to stay longer! The whole look of the place exceeded my expectations, more luxurious than I expected. The bungalows were sold out for our stay so we stayed in the standard double cottage and this was perfect, I would not bother with the bungalow. The cottages were comfortable with a small deck at the rear with a hammock. we sat for ages one day with a beer and watched lizards scampering around. I was very impressed with the air con, worked very rapidly and effectively. Bathroom basic, but fine.

Meals were excellent, quite varied from one day to another.

Since we were on the longest package we got to try all the trips and loved them all. It was fun to shop for amazonian souvenirs at Novo Airao. The trip to the cabocla village was interesting but the highlight was seeing their semi-tame pet macaw and sloth! Seeing a sloth up close was just amazing for me. The trek to Madada caves was exhausting but worth it, even if we did tangle with an aggressive jungle bee! The guides were wonderful throughout, they all were approachable, enthusiastic and very knowledgable - we felt in safe hands at all times. We especially enjoyed spending time with Krishna, he is a fab guy with excellent English skills so we could really learn a lot on our trips with him, and enjoyed a bit of banter.

Another thing I enjoyed was meeting other travellers. We tended to go out for activities in the same small groups, usually about 6-8 people, so after a few days we had got to know the others and could have a chat with them in the evenings over a caipirinha or 2. The bar/lobby area can be quite social at night.

I would recommend this place to anyone for a really special trip. It is expensive, but considering all activities and meals are included it is reasonable value for Brazil. I think the provision of soft drinks, or at least water included would improve the value.

The Anavilhanas experience is unique. The setting is perfect and the pace with which the activities are scheduled leaves a lot of room for relaxation. The night time jungle trip is amazing so is piranha fishing experience. The sunrise trip is out of the world (of course we got lucky with a cloud less sky). The staff is super friendly and the food is fantastic.

I made the initial booking last October. From Day 1, arrangements made with their reservations department through Valedmar were superb. Totally hassle free. So was our stay there. Everything was absolutely perfect - the lodge itself, the itinerary (we did 4 days/3 nights package but there is a lots of chillout down time too to really chill out), the guides (Joao and Luis) were amazing as were all the staff from the transfer drivers, Reception, the bar, the restaurant, the boat staff, the maintenance - you can see they really work as a team and want to ensure they guests have an unforgettable experience. The food was out of this world especially the fish and the juices. It was my birthday whilst I was there and they made me feel special. And how can a birthday be beaten by canoeing in the morning, visiting the pink dolphins in the afternoon, viewing the most perfect rainbow when we got back to the lodge.

We booked one of the four deluxe rooms which is just a 2 min walk from the main buildings but feels so wonderfully remote. nothing like chilling between activities in that hammock on the balcony (although all rooms have hammocks I believe).

Loved the set up in the bar where there were games on each table. I hadn't played dominos in years! Great fun with a juice or cocktail. They also seem to intentionally mix the guests up for each of the activities which is fantastic for getting to know people really quickly. of course you can keep yourself to yourself if you want but there is nothing like sharing these wonderful experiences with people and reliving them later on.

if you have a few hours to kill in Manaus before your flight, ask one of the guides if they can arrange the tour of Manaus and boat trip to the meet of the Amazon and Rio Negro (a sight to blow your mind - our amazing world at its best).

This lodge is heaven on earth and feels absolutely away from everything (even though only 3 hours from Manaus by road). Everything taken care of for you so you really don't have to think about anything. Everything included apart from drinks at the bar.

I had visited the Peruvian Amazon several years ago. I was a little concerned beforehand that I would find it too similar but they were very different, although both superb.

Thank you for the most wonderful few days1
