Although still a work in progress, this hotel was a wonderful place to stay. The owners and staff went out of their way to see that we enjoyed ourselves. The beach is gorgeous. We viewed it from our private balcony each sunset. We had a huge room with air conditioning that was well appointed (although not yet fully furnished - needed a dresser). The food in the dining room was very good -- and they made some special dishes for us. Menu was limited since we were the only ones there during most of our stay (a week). Small but nice swimming pool too.
Lots to see around there too -- the Montena village in Machallila National Park, with trails and ruins for hikers, and a fun mud bath and sulfur pool. (We also witnessed a curandero ceremony - very interesting). A short boat ride too to a nearby island they call the alternative Galapagos. Lobster at little beach restaurants, a wonderful museum at Montanita (another small town), etc.More
