Chris has just taken over in the last couple of days and got the Royal Oak up and running again. A little bit quiet at the moment, but we had a very pleasant lunch and enjoyed the friendly service. Pedigree on draught was excellent.
Great location and lots of good walking nearby. Will definitely go back

Warm welcome from new Landlady, Chris. Despite having just taken over, she produced a good quality pub lunch for us and our friends. Food was excellent value at 2 meals for £10. We plan to return.

This establishment has now changed management. Its telephone number has also changed 01260 226 121 and NOT as shown on all the old web sites. Present menu is very limited. Very disappointed at the change. We did not bother to eat there. I wish new landlord every success but feel he will have to up his game if he is to survive with so much local competition. Only time will tell if this pub develops to its former success.

We went as a family group at Christmas 2012, elderly mum who was disabled and with alzheimers had to be hand fed by us first, the staff were excellent and helped very much by making sure that all her vegetables were pureed. We were very impressed by both the delicious food and reasonable prices.
In May 2013 we returned again as a couple, the food and the service were still excellent.
Our only negative comment on both occasions was it seemed a little chilly in there, but what the heck, pop another layer on just in case, the food and service are worth it !!
We will be paying another visit sometime.

Visited today after a wedding event in the area. Didnt look much from the outside and also the inside wasnt much to talk about but the food and service was AMAZING!!!! The food was soooo tasty and the value was top!! 3 course Sunday dinner under £9!!!! I thought that it wouldnt be that good for the price but I have paid £30 for the same and it wasnt as half as nice as todays meal, well well well worth a visit.
